You need to jump onto Compaq/HP's website and browse the download area for your model of notebook. Then download the drivers you need (sound/modem/etc).

Run the executable for each, and this should automatically install the drivers you require.

I'd give you a link, but you need to know exactly which model you have. V3000 is just a range.. there will be a more specific model number on the underside of the notebook.

Do you know what type of your motherboard..if you know, then you can googling(google) your driver..if you dont know, then you can try update using device manager.

I'm very sure when you view device manager, your adapater will have problem with driver..

Picture show device manager that have problem
(actually, i think your device manager also like this)
riderjunior_3.jpg
You see question mark icon (?) here with yellow?

that mean driver wasn't compatible with that device or it still don't have driver for that.

Solution?
Right click at that icon, properties
then,window will pop up
find driver tab
and update..
it will need more time and internet connection

2nd solution:
you see the name for your device right?
write their name and number full/complete..
and google .find driver..

Reinstall xp pro on my asus motherboard P4S333M, after reinstall all seems to be ok except the sound/audio. on device manager I get a yellow marking "!" and on properties it says CODE10 CANNOT...

Seems the problem in your Audio Driver. Here's some steps that you could try :
1. Microsoft recommends that when this happens, you click "Update Driver" to update the drivers for the device in Device Manager.
2. based on my research the audio card is C-Media 8738 (not 9738) download the latest driver from here : http://www.cmedia.com.tw/EN/DownloadCenter_Detail.aspx?pserno=0&dtype=ALL

good luck

go to the site of your laptop/desktop manufacturer. eg. dell, hp etc.
go to the support part of site, then drivers manuals.
you will get it there.

or go to device manager on your pc and it can get it for you.
control panel/administrative tools/computer management.
on lrft of screen click on device manager.
there will be a red x or yellow exclamation mark beside your audio device,
double click and update driver.
also make sure it is "enabled" it could be just turned off

No audio device drivers

Hi, you can typically find audio device drivers for your computer on your manufacturer's web site. (For example, if you have an HP computer, go to HP.com to find the drivers.) Search for your computer's model name or number, and there is usually a "drivers," "downloads," or "support" section where you can find all of your device drivers and download them for free.

No sound. yellow (!) by audio driver in device mgr. error 10

Go to your device manager (windows key+break, device manager is on the left) and under "Sound, video and game controllers" will be "Realtek High Definition Audio" which has the yellow exclamation mark. Right click it and select uninstall. Reboot, and Windows should detect new hardware. If Windows doesn't automatically install the proper driver, the latest one can be downloaded from Realtek at the following link:

Audio device erased

You have to double check you system unit in installing your drivers. First, try to check the support & download drivers for your audio. Now, when you already downloaded a copy of driver for your
MOBO most likely you still need to download a software for HDA (High Definition Audio ) in order for your audio to function.
