When I am downloading a film...I leave my PC on but when I go back to it after about half an hour it has switched itself off stoopping my download can you help please ty mike

There is little info on your problem but I think you mean the screen went black while downloading a film. Normally computer monitors turn themselves off (dormant) to save energy and the life of the monitor's screen if not used for 10 or 30 minutes, depending on the settings, but the download just keeps going. Mine is set to 10 minutes. All you have to do is disturb the Mouse and see if the monitor screen switches itself on. There is another power saving option, and that is the Computer itself. If the computer is not used for one hour, it too goes dormant, but can also be set to switch itself completely off after the download is completed. However, if a computer is left on for over an hour, it can switch itself off to save energy and the computer's own wear and tear. It all depends on the computer hardware and the settings. If it is hardware controlled, then it may or may not switch itself off but it still goes dormant. Or it can be set to whatever you wish it to do, stay on all the time, go dormant after a set time or switch off if there is no prolonged activity.

(Emachines: intel pentium 4) Everytime i turn on my computer it requests for a system password, and im unable to use my restore cd.

That's known as a BIOS password. If you clear the BIOS, you can possibly avoid asking who set the password, but then you have to be able to set up the BIOS acceptably, about which you can google around for details. Asking around (to others who use the system, in case it's not just you) might let you know something new. Perhaps someone set it from within a utility rather than directly via the BIOS, and perhaps it's a soft error and entering '0' or '00000000' or 'password' or some such default password will avail.

Dell OptiPlex 330 runs slow as the day goes on. How do I fix.

There could be many reasons for this...we will cover a few.
First go here: http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html and download Advanced System Care (these are all free programs). Install the program (during installation be watchful of the program asking you to download toolbars and things of this nature you do not need, just un-check them) and click "Maintain Windows" Click "scan" when it finishes click "repair". Then click "Diagnose System" as well...scan and repair (may require reboot).
Then go here: www.malwarebytes.org and download the free version of this program. Save to desktop, install, update and run full scan. Follow instructions to delete any Malware. This may take some time so make sure you do it over your lunch hour or when work is slow.
Lastly, check your computer fans to see that they are running properly, or are not obstructed by anything like dust or just lying on something that will restrict the air flow.
Hope this helps you

My download stoped after it was sopposed to be done but stopd after it was done and then went to 50% because it became double what it was sopposed to at the end how do i fix it or do i hav to redownload...

Is your hard-drive out of room? Perhaps there is no room for your computer *to* install whatever it is. In your computer there should be a defragmentation option to make more room. Otherwise I'd recommend A: a seprate storage device or server to place everything in. B: A new computer. C: and if all else fails, I'd just try deleting useless software and old files you won't need.

ACER T180 KEEPS REBOOTING IN ERECOVERY MANAGEMENT MODE, EVEN WHEN I EXIT AND DO A REBOOT IT STILL GOES TO THE RECOVERY PAGE. USING F8 DOES NOT WORK AS WELL TO ENTER SAFE MODE.

If it's still under warranty, I suggest talking to your supplier or ringing Acer. If not, by the sounds of it you might be infected by some virus.. or a hardware fault. I am unable to tell. Perhaps getting advice from a local computer shop would be the best way, maybe allowing them to look in to it for an hour and seeing whether it's worth repairing.

To connect the mouse to this computer

Only two types of mainstream mice PS2 or USB

PS2: round end with pins, goes into a specific port
USB: flat goes into any usb port.

Now if this "computer" ( which is your only description)
doesn't have either of the above ports then perhaps it's quite old. if this is correct then you will reqiure a "serial port" mouse!

My computer screen will just blackout while i'm using it

You are too intense, so your monitor blacks out. Ask it what visions it had when it comes to. Then just use audio to get information out.

Also, you miscategorized the problem as generic; does this happen to all monitors you can connect to the computer, just yours, or perhaps just a particular instance of a particular model? Additionally, you are expected to note any odd behavior other than the monitor's (e.g. you forgot the electric bill 5 months in a row, whether the computer ON light also goes out, unbidden reboots, etc.) and under what circumstances the screen will come back.

Some of us have real problems; monitor suddenly showing beautiful images of heaven on earth, speakers erupting in joyous rapture...just try and get work done with that going on!

I can't seem to play memorex cd's on my computer. I've downloaded musi and one cd has family photos on it, but for some reason it wil not download on my computer.

It has nothing to do with memorex. There are few possible causes. Perhaps you're using incompatible format (CD-R, CD+R...). Also, perhaps those CDs were burned on another computer and left unclosed. Check the CD format and check if the CDs are closed or opened for additional files.

BIOS PROBLEM

Actully you are not selecting the reall speed of CPU thats why it asks. Its better to use the default setting of your BIOS as it was provided by company as per your specification.
