Pinnacle studio 14 importer has stopped working. It won't load up.

manual page 311 and the page is 323 on the computer down load file

Use an uninstaller program like Advanced Uninstaller (free). It will clear the registry entries also. That may be the problem with the reinstall.

Probably a good idea to start off by contacting Pinnacle Systems Support.

How did you import the video to your Studio? Is that camcorder connected directly to the usb port of your computer? If so? please try and check this one. Found this on the Pinnacle knowledge base

Everyone using ANY thing Pinnacle related has this problem...

Think of using Pinnacle like trying to teach an autistic kid.
*You have to do EVERYTHING very slowly and carefully, and wait forever while it sinks it (renders the clips).

Suggest for that if ever that the project wont open to your Studio 14 go back to your Studio 12 and then render it as File and used either AVI or MPEG then after that import that to your Stduio 14 the re edit the video again,.

• 700-PCI (a.k.a. Pinnacle Studio Deluxe 2)
• 500-PCI (a.k.a. Pinnacle AV/DV)
• Any 1394 cards.

Are you using vista 32 or 64 bit system? If Vista 64 bit there is no driver for your device and the only available is 32 bit only. Aside from that you can check also the video cable you were trying to used. If firewire under import/capture tab of Studio 14 you need to select the name of your camcorder or dv camcorder. Check that out and try.
