Just trying to setup yahoo as a home page again

Open Internet Explorer (or your web brower)

Go to Tools, Internet Options

In the first box, under the first tab, you'll see one or more websites listed.

Delete any you do not want as a homepage.

If you leave any, press enter at the end of the line, and type in

For each website that you want to set as a home page (for more than one), use a seperate line. type the basic website name as listed above, then click on okay at the bottom.

Close out Internet Explorer, (or your web browser) and then restart. Your home page (yahoo) will load as the home page; in addition to any others you listed.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

New PC6280T quad that has two version of IE 8. The 64bit works with my Yahoo e-mail account and I can click links and it go to the web page. the IE 8 non 64 bit is the default and will not work with e-mail...

To make the 64 bit IE8 your default, do the following:
  1. Open the 64 bit IE8
  2. Click on Tools
  3. Click on Internet Options
  4. Click on the Programs tab at the top
  5. Click on the "Make Default" button
  6. Also put a check in the box that states "Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the default browser.
  7. Close out the browser
The 64 bit IE8 is now your default browser. Thank you for using Fixya and please remember to return to rate this answer.

Were is my browers the page keeps comeing up and saying rest my brower what do they mean by that

Reset your browser. Here is the link to how to do this. What page is telling you this?
It can be an indication of malware installed on your computer. If you can't open a browser window, you can access the internet options from control panel.
I recommend you download MBAM from here and run a scan of your system, once you get the browser up again...

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!
