If you know the model of your printer it might be easier if you can download the software to the internet for you to be able to install it to your computer and have it working. please check if its currently installed , by clicking start, then printer and faxes tab, then see if its there, if its not there then you need to install the downloaded software available at lexmark site. if its there then check the connection at the back of your computer, if its properly inserted and plug to the your pc.

Hi there my parents have an oldish desktop PC and a Lexmark 2600 printer. The printer has installed fine and printed test pages, but will not print anything from Microsoft Works Word documents or any other...

There are a couple of things I think you can try.

First, make sure you have the right driver. You want to download an updated driver version than the one you have from Lexmark.com. Most manufacturers have their driver downloads on their support sites. You may want to try different versions of the drivers, but make sure they are appropriate for your version of Windows.

The other thing you can do...is try stopping and restarting your print spooler.
Go into your control panel in the administrative tools and search for services. From there locate the spooler service and open it up. click the stop button...and then click start again after it stops.
Good Luck

Document sometimes doesn't print

If the documents are large or have a lot of pictures and pages, printing can take a while. However, if the same thing occurs with a one page letter, try re-loading the printer driver(s) and/or check the printer settings, especially those that have to do with spooling. It's usually best to choose the setting that allows the document to spool so it prints faster.

Just in case you don't have the manul, here is a link to the book in PDF format:

Computer printing blue

The only thing I can think of is in the Printer Properties on the computer with the problem. If you can't find anything, then remove the printer from the computer and reinstall the driver.

I have a Lexmark all in one x4250 ink jet printer and a new computer with windows vista. I cannot get the printer to print a whole page from the computer. As well, the print is often 2 or 3 lines on top of...

Go to the Lexmark site. More than likely if the unit is more than a few years old you will not find Vista drivers. Most manuf. have their hands full creating Vista drivers for current products and are making no effort to provide for older equipment. Be prepared to throw it away. It is a problem for many varient Operating Systems: XP64-bit, Linux, etc.

I just got a new HP Pavilion dv9843cl notebook PC and ever since my Lexmark X5150 hasn't printed properly. Sometime it will only print one of two or three pages, and then have to be shut off and restarted...

make sure you only have one version of the lexmark in your printer properties. I.E. its not displaying a copy of the lexmark. second make sure you have the latest drivers for your lexmark installed which can be found here. Then just select your operating system and you should be fine.

other things to make sure is when installing the drivers dont have the printer plugged in. and make sure a diagnostics printout is correct to ensure it isnt misaligned.

to solve this problem i think you need to uninstall the printer driver and install again maybe you cannot install property the driver make it sure that the driver you install is including the driver for the scanner. If you downloaded from the internet the driver please if you download driver is the driver only of the printer or full installation including the scanner support.
