Question about Hitachi 60V500 60" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

Got it... Ok...so since both fans are brand new...that means that the second explanation you give must be the reason for the blinking TEMP LED. So...to solve this once and for all...what would cause the bulb and the fans to turn on for 3-5 seconds, and then turn off? If the ballast is good...would it allow the lamp to turn on at all? Thanks...thanks...thanks.....

It is helpful to have the sequence of the blinking red light. This may help:

3. Error Code Operational Check

Note: The TV must be in "Shut Down" and not have been switched Off, to perform the Error Code Operational

Check. When the TV is switched Off, the code automatically resets to "12" No Error.

Pressing the front panel "DEVICE" and "MENU" buttons at the same time, and holding for 5 seconds,

activates the Error Code Mode. The LED flashes denoting a two digit Error Code, or indicating no problem

has occured since the last Initalization.

Note: The front panel buttons must be used, NOT those on the Remote Control.

• The number of flashes indicates the value of the MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.

• The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2 second.

• The LED then flashes indicating the value of the LSD (ones digit) of the Error Code.

• The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.

Example: If the Error Code is "23", the LED will flash two times, pause, and then flash three times.

Replaced lamp in my HD 61Z575, but when I turn on my TV, nothing happens (no fan noise). After ~10 seconds, the Light LED starts blinking rapidly. Could it possibly be the brand new lamp? Ballast?

The old lamp was in there before the fan work?U replaced the lamp u put the door back on did u make sure the safety latch is off and tightly closed with the the lamp door.The continue blinking LED light does it make alot of clicking noises too.Yes,then the Ballast board it is dead too.The Ballast board only job are to help the projection lamp to ignite to work.

Problem for Sony Grand WEGA KDF-55WF655. Hello,

5 times Red LED blinks means Lamp Driver Error. (KDF-55WF655)
2 possible reasons, either Lamp is gone or Ballast Supply got bad.
Replace lamp first, in most cases it solved the problem.
How old is this TV and did you replaced lamp recently?
Thanks.

Replaced bulb in Mitsubishi WD-52525 and it still does not work

Press the input/device button and the menu button at the same time. Green LED will blink a two digit code blink 1st digit short pause blink 2nd digit longer pause and repeat. Any number of problems can cause this same symptom.

If the red LED your refering to is the Status LED and not the Lamp LED then you have big problems. A red Status LED indicates no communication from the Format board to the DMD board (light engine). 1/2 the time caps on the format board itself the other 1/2 must send entire electronics package to Mitsubishi.

there are 3 leds on the front that blink the error code. which leds blink gives you the error. if its just the standby/temp red led blinking, it has overheated for some reason. there are a couple other fans you could clean but check your ventilation. many people put too close to the wall or close it up in a cabinet. it needs atleast 4" from the wall and someway to vent out hot air and get cool air in. a different model had the temp sensor cause this issue, it is the silver thing right atop the lamp. you will have to pull the whole back panel possibly, there are two wires that hook to it and two screws holding it to the engine (lamp housing). if you get lamp and temp leds blinking, reseat the lamp door. timer and temp leds is a fan error, all 3 leds is a lamp error (lamp, ballast, colorwheel, dmd)

Ok...next...

Good Day, egear00;
Try looking at this, since you sound like a TECH;
The Fan alarm is activated when the Fan does not run. This can happen in two different circumstances.
  1. When the Fan Fails due to a malfunction.
  2. When the Power is turned off. The FAN +12 regulators turn off and the fans quit.
(1) When the Fan Fails:
In this situation the fan alarm will be activated. Inside each fan is a hall element that keeps pin 1 of the connector pulled low when the fan rotates. If the fan stops, the pull up resistor connected back to the Fan 12+ pulls the alarm line high. This high is routed through two Diodes to the shutdown circuit of Q905, Q906. When the base of Q905 goes high, it's collector pulls the Power 1 (Power On) command line low which shuts off the relay driver Q903. The purpose of Q906 is to make the shutdown circuit appear like an SCR. If there's any pull up voltage being supplied, (in this case from the Power 1 line), the emitter to collector current of Q906 will keep Q905 in the On condition. This circuit will remain latched as long as the Power 1 line remain in the on condition.
An additional route for the Fan Alarm is out the PPS2 connector pin 9 to Q562. The Fan Alarm high will cause Q562 to turn on and pull the Fan Alarm pin 48 of the Microprocessor low. When pin 48 goes low, the Microprocessor will in turn activate the Temp LED and cause it to Blink. (See the Temp Alarm Circuit for more details).
(2) When the Power is turned off.
When the Power is turned off, the Fans do not run because the Fan +12V regulators I906 and I907 are turned off. This would generate a false Fan Alarm, so the Microprocessor outputs a High from pin 56 to Pin 7 of the PPS2 connector. This high turn on the Fan Alarm Enable transistor Q908. When Q908 is turned on, the collector is held low to prevent a Fan Alarm. This low keeps D916 and D918 cathodes held low.

Blinking lights and pwer down

Good Day;
Try this:

Symptom: All Front LED indicators are flashing in sequence: Power-->Temp-->Lamp-->Power......continuously
Cause: Replace Lamp . This symptom may happen all the time or it may be intermittent. It is normal if it occurrs from time to time, See OG under TV Front Indicators explanation notes.

Good Luck, big IRISH.
