We want to install a Mr. Slim unit in our cabin, but don't like the bright white against the heart of pine, bead board walls. Can the unit be painted and how?

How would we "destroy the coils and drain pan" if this is a split unit?!

  • Anonymous Jun 14, 2011

Because there is a coil inside too its called the evaporator. It will get clogged with paint.
I just dont recommend it nothing good will come from it.

  • Anonymous Jun 14, 2011

If you arent talking about the inside unit it not a good idea to paint the condenser (outside unit).
The paint will clogg the condenser coil my best idea if its for the condenser put a fence around it to hide the unit. hope this helps.

No, I was referring to the inside unit. I thought perhaps I could seal the mechanism and just paint the "shell" with an appliance paint. I've done the same to re-purpose ceiling fans and appliances (stoves, ceramic heaters, etc.)

Hi - I have a MR SLIM MSZ A09NA HEAT PUMP. It is dripping inside the room. It was installed in 2008. Is seams to be loose on the wall. Is it supposed to be level? tipped to the right ?

An air conditioner should be installed so it's level. These appliances are designed so that condensate collects below the fan and runs into the slinger ring, which is made of sheetmetal and is part of the fan assembly. The bottom of the ring acts like a gutter to collect condensate. The fan then picks the water out of the ring and slings it against the condenser coils.
Recycling the condensate in this manner increases the coils' cooling capacity. Check the air conditioner for level -- front to back and side to side -- when you install the unit.
If it is tipped a little to the Front then you will Get water inside room.

We need to change freon to 1992 mitsubishi expo model. how do we change freon

Who told you you need to change the freon?? If it is a tech find an other one. you cannot change it as you most likely don't have the equipment .. It could well be a R12 unit and you might have to change it out. It would then be best to update the whole thing and save yourself a lot of heart ache

Just installed 5 units in my home. all four work

It sounds like the condensate from the drain pan is not draining correctly! The drain tube from your Air Handler unit may be kinked or not properly installed. The condensate water from the unit should be drained outside at least.
