You need to configure your router with wireless encryption.

Connect a LAN cable from the Netgear to the LAN port on your computer, open a browser and enter the Netgear configuration URL -
http://192.168.0.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = password You can now change the default admin password and configure the wireless settings.
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.

have you enabled the wireless switch on your laptop to enable the connection to your router ???
some packard bells are :-

press the FN+F1 keys together and some are press the FN+F2 keys together

The only solution is to reset your router to the factory defaults.

To do this, use an unfolded metal paper clip and push it in the small hole near the power connection for 5 seconds while your router in powered on.

This procedure will erase all passwords and security settings.

Make sure you re-enter a new password and setup wireless security after reset.

To enter your router config. Open your web browser and type 192.168.1.1 After a reset left the user name or login blank and the password is: admin.

Then you will be able to set your new security key.

Please follow the steps:

1.Open the router page (192.168.1.1)
2.Enter the username and password (default password is admin and leave the username blank)
3.Click Wireless and then click Wireless Security.
4.If the Security mode is set to WPA or WEp (other than disabled), you can see the password thre and can note it down.

at the command prompt (dos black screen) type ipconfig /renew this should reset your local ip address for the new Bell router. Your laptop is trying to use the settings from the old router.

Just give them the password, so that they can connect to the network. That's all you have to do, if you open it, then everyone will be able to get access.

This is how we have it setup at my house, anytime anyone new comes into the house, we give them the password/keycode so they can connect to the network.

One of your computers can go online because its using a wired connection to the router, but the wireless clients cannot access the connection - is this right?

Then you only need to setup the wireless part in the router.

make sure you are not using internet connection sharing on your laptop. it will cause problems with the router and will keep the other laptop from connecting because of a dhcp conflict. let me know if that doesnt help. also make sure the other laptops are not using ICS either.
