Re: need to hook up dvd player
In order to connect a DVD player to this set, you need to purchase an RF converter. This will take the 3 cables (Red/White/Yellow) and convert them to either channel 3 or 4 that can be seen thru the TV. Connection instructions will come with the converter.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

The DVD player and Tv set connections are made in ur tv,by what kind set up?Like by a RCA components cables Y,R,W RCA cable?Just follow the DVD player output holes hook up RCA cable Y,R,W to the DVD player out holes hookup to tv set input holes like Y,R,W input holes.Check the RCA connections cables pull out and re connected in those holes a couples times sometimes old equipment must do that for ensure contact are made.Might have a damage set of RCA cable set.Might have replace another RCA cable set.Or ur setup using a S-video cable set and used a RCA cable R,W cable only for audio only?Than S-video cable probally got shorted must be replaced.
If the cable box needs to be set to 4, the TV will need to be set to 4 as well as the dvd player. The hookup should be cable box to dvd player to the TV for your system to work. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks.
I have this model..was trying to hook it up to a directv hughes receiver. After a day of trying and many curse words I found that using this hookup works . Hook up your satellite connection to you tv as usual...Now plug rca cables(red, yellow white) into the corresponding holes on the BACK of the Directv receiver ..now plug the rca cables into the FRONT of the Magnavox player...you will only use find holes for the white and yellow(that's ok) Now hook up up the dvd player to the tv using the rca connection back of dvd/vcr player..or if your tv only has a coax connection you will need a rf modulator available at walmart etc. You will run the dvd/vcr on L2. The key is the connections to the FRONT of the dvd/vcr player..I hope this helps..:)
This is very simple
First on the back of your dvd player there should be the holes with the same colors as the cable you have, yellow (video in) in the yellow, red (left audio) in the red e.t.c.
Then either on the side or the back of your tv there should be the same sorta thing, depends if you have a HD TV or a regular freeview/analog tv. With hd there should be green blue red white and yellow, just the same as the DVD player, plug the cables into the right colors as i said,
Same goes for the regular TV, just do exactly the same as you have done with the dvd player,
Switch your channel to dvi or av1/2/3 and your dvd player should be working
Actually if you do have a ps2 you don`t really need a Dvd upconverter because Ps3 is a full Dvd player +blu Ray Hi Definition.I suggest to take the dvd out and just use the ps3 as a Dvd player
Do you have the red, white and yellow hookups on the back of your TV????? If you don't then you need to get an RF Modulator. You can buy one at Walmart. Older TVs don't have the red, white and yellow hookups. You hook up the RF modulator with a short cable to the cable outlet on your TV. Then you plug in your DVD player to the RF modulator. You also plug your cable for the TV into the RF modulator. It really is very simple. Directions are included with the RF modulator. You will need a short piece of cable also.
