Question about SanDisk Sansa e200 MP3 Player

Sansa e270 synchronizing problem

My sansa has been working good for 2 years and suddenly it has stopped working. When I try to sync it to my computer it begins to sync the first song and when it its 100% it says error and moves on to the second song. Halfway through syncing the second song it freezes and my Sansa screen either freezes or turns white. I have tried formating it multiple times and have updated my firmware with no luck. I can still add videos but music is my big problem.

It might be a device certificate error..what you will need to do is to format the device..Keep in mind that formatting the device will delete all the songs you have in there..to format click menu,settings and then click on format..if that doesnt work you will have to update the firmware on the device...Please follow the link below to get the firmware

I can not resync my sansa e270 when i plug it into the computer, i use rhapsody and never had this problem before


Hi, theres 2 ways usually to sync with sansa.

usually wen u plug it into the usb cord, u shud be able to open a folder and put musik through that.

My computers. than go to Sansa

or WMP depending on ur version

go to Synchronizing or Copy to CD or DEVICE.

there should be syncing button under the music list depending on the version.

but i stick to open my computer and the Sansa folder.

Go to ur Sansa in the USB option change it to MSC than follow these instructions


To add songs using the MSC mode, follow these steps:

1. Organize your songs into folders and place it into one directory.
2. Open "My Computer" and open the drive for your Sansa.
3. click on Tools choose File Option, there will be a Pop-up screen and choose View Tab
4. Select on Show Hidden files and Folder Option, so you can see all the files
5. Choose MUSIC Folder, double click and Drag and drop all the songs on that folder, and It will go automatically on your player. OR highlight a songs, right click select COPY, go to MUSIC folder right click then PASTE and it will be save on your Player

Windows media player does not recognize the e270 when I connect it to the computer. It continues to ask me to connect a device to sync.


Sansa gives the next answer for the e200-series: The device appears properly in Device Manager and My Computer, but is not recognized in Windows Media Player and cannot be synced. STEP1 - Download the appropriate hotfix from Microsoft

  2. Run the hotfix.
  3. Connect the device to the PC.

My sansa e270 6gb is frozen and wont go past the refresh database screen what can i do to erase all the data that is on it and start all over


I'm always hesitant to give this answer, because if it's done wrong, you can do more damage to your player, but the answer is: you need to format your player. 1 way is to let windows re-format it.
Plug player into usb of computer.
open up mp3 drive. click on tools.
have windows re-format it.

2. Download firmware http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1449
download the new firmware and check the box that says reformat
data area.

if ur are formated the memory card..
1. memory card may be corrupted.
2. try to restore the factory settings
a) by tool>setting>phone>general> restore factory setting's or other option like install. thank u sir..

The database is corrupt or the licenses on the songs expired - Sansa had a fix on their website, but they took the software down in the last 3 weeks - I would go ahead and give them a call
