So I just had a friend bring me his new trimmers and said they weren't cutting even though he zero gapped the blade, I turned it on and tied cutting a little hair on my hand and they indeed were not cutting so I took the blade off and backed it off from the zero gap just a hair so it still cut very close and this solved the issue, I think for whatever reason because the teeth on some trimmers are so fine they need a degree of separation from the blade so the hair can get between them, otherwise it could be blade speed if your clipper has that power screw on the side try playing with that if the de-gapping doesn't help

Hello,
Try cleaning the head cutter below the main stem. Remove screws and clean old hairs in there, also lubricate.
Thanks

SOURCE: adjust blade

On the Andis T-Outliner or Outliner if you have use the trimmer for more than 3 hair cuts or 3 time or more I do not recommend moving the blade, reason why is that you have all ready start or have a sit in or a grooved, I have found that by moving the blade it won't cut at all.You need to resharpen the blade with a professional sharpener and have them reset the blade for the type of hair cut you want. The blade can be set to shave or do line ups, and Fades. This type of trimmer is for that kind of hair cut the professional barber use them all the time. Call Mannys Sharpening 323 263-4697 They have a good rating on Yahoo Local.
I have try many sharpener and had no luck, until a friend of mind told me about Mannys Sharpening, They know what they are talking about highly Professional in thier work.

Brand new andis trimmer pulling hair and not cutting good

The questions about Andis T-Outliner or Andis Styliner II, about not cutting or pulling hair.
On the Andis T-Outliner trimmer if the sharpness of the blade is worn out, all the tricks and treats won't make this blade to cut hair. Before I do any kind of work to the trimmer, I first test the coil for the right amount power, I can get out of the coil, without this power, it doesn't matter how new or old the trimmer is, the trimmer will not cut hair at all. If the coil is good, I will sharpen the blade and set it according to your needs (lineups or shave setting) after the blade is sharpened and set. The trimmer will need to be, adjusted for alignment to the blade, adjust the power of the coil, and adjust the tension for the blade. All these factors are involved in the Andis T-Outliner to cut hair clean especially lineups or shaving. These adjustments work together for the trimmer to work properly. I know that we all trying to save money, which is part of life, but sometimes frustration will take over and say hell with it, I'll buy another or forget it. Manufactures make mistakes, sometimes the trimmer was not sharpened or adjusted correctly. Any case, what I'm trying to say here, if you try all the tricks & treats and can get your trimmer to work, it may be easier for you to send it to a professional to sharpen & repair the problem and set the blade according to your needs (lineups or shave setting) We specialize on Andis T-Outliner Trimmers. Our complete sharpening & repair service is $19.99 each trimmer, this includes return shipping. We sharpen the blade, adjust and set the blade according to your request (Lineup or Shave setting) make all the necessary adjustments for alignment, power, tension to make your trimmer work better than new. How do i get blades closer on the pivot pro t liners

You really can't move the cutting edge on any andis trimmer blades without throwing them out of spec. I say this to say that if you try (and the blades are not precisely set) it will scrape and cut the skin when you attempt to use them. They are factory set for optimum cutting. If you have found that they aren't cutting as closely or as cleanly lately, it just might be time to replace the blade entirely. I have a set of those, and a styliner II, but I prefer the cutting power of my T-Outliner over all.
