Daytek DT4040 - Turn it on and after about 3 seconds the display goes black but audio is still fine. Anyone know what causes this?

  • Anonymous Mar 25, 2009

after turning it on for first time of the day after about 1 to 4 hours later it starts to loose its images and turns red and green until it turns black turned it off and back on and the screen turns on and is good for rest of the day. i think it may have something to do with the heat or lack of heat because once it warms up it works fine with no colour problems.

My Ultravision TV is now having horizontal lines. Do not know if it has a horizontal hold button hidden somewhere or is the TV going out? Can I fix it myself. Large screen

Can you try and see if it is your source that has the lines or the actuall TV that has the horizontal lines.
What is your source? Direct TV, Cable TV or even off air Digital TV.
If you remove your source do you still get the horizontal lines? If you do then what colors are they? Seems if when you remove your source input and you still have these H-lines then you have issues with your individual LCD palets. Especially if they are just Green, Red or Blue?

Samsung HCN4226W "image pinching"

The convergence IC has gone out and is located on the Main bd or the Power supply bd depending on the specific model and must be replaced and a Full convergence alignment must be performed to return your tv to a watchable condition. Only a Samsung trained tech can do this.

Image doesn't come on but the green light is on

95% of the time this is caused by the lamp. Inspect the lamp again 9 times out of 10 the element will be shattered sometimes the force of the fail can cause the glass to shatter, the force can also cause futher damage but this is unlikely. Have the lamp replaced check the hours lamp should last around 3,000 more if you switch off with the remote never the side button. Reset lamp counter to zero.

Red green and blue lines

Most projection TVs have an option to refocus. For example, my Sony rear projection TV has a button on the front for focusing the lamps. Try finding this button or option in the menus with your remote. Projection TVs actually use three lamps, one red, one green and one blue. These need to line up exactly in order to form a good picture, and when they come out of focus, you see the edges which sometimes has the effect of a 3D image when you aren't wearing 3D glasses. Hope this helps!

PINK/GREEN SHADOWS, LINES

Here is what I was able to find out about your problem from sony: This issue is usually caused by some type of nearby magnetic interference, such as unshielded stereo speakers placed too close to the TV. These spots can be small or large and will normally be red, green or blue, but sometimes appear purple or pink. They normally occur on the sides or corners of the screen, but can also appear in the middle. To resolve this issue, move any stereo speakers or other electronic devices away from the TV; a minimum of 2-3 feet is recommended. If the situation is not remedied immediately, unplug the power cord of the TV from the electrical outlet for 20-30 minutes; repeat this process one more time if the issue is not resolved the first time. If the issue is still unresolved, service may be required. The Sony® eService Web site at http://eservice.sony.com/ can assist you in obtaining service from a Sony Service Center or locating a Sony Authorized Servicer in your area. Hope this is helpful:)

Vertical Red/Green lines

You have bad connections on the board and need to be resoldered or the convergence IC's are bad. If you know how to solder on solid state elctronics then you can change the IC's or find a bad connection on the board if you know the High Voltage issues when working on a TV set. If you have to training on TV sets I highly recommend that you call a service person to assist you in this repair.
