Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. It sounds like the thermal fuse failed.Open the door remove the screws around the top and flip the control panel open. There is a white fuse with two wires coming from it check it for continuity or jump the two wires together to see if it powers back up. If it does replace the fuse with part #8193762 install the whole kit just follow the directions that come with it.And remember tu turn the power off before checking and installing the fuse.

the drain pump is fairly easy to replace. it locks into place beside the sump and motor. push tab in and rotate pump to pull out. you will lose water so have a towel handy. inspect drain hose for restrictions or kinks.
Your question is: your 3-yr-old dishwasher (Whirlpool 24-inch ) stopped in mid-cycle. A small amount standing water in the bottom of the washer. None of the control panel buttons were lit up and none of them will work. NO POWER
First check all the breakers (or fuses).
Second check the electrical connections. If you're not a qualified electrician or service tech then call one. It"s under the unit behind the kickplate.

i assume you mean that water is coming into the machine when not in use. a common cause of this is if the drain pipe is connected into a spigot on the sink trap. every time you empty water from the sink, some goes down the drain pipe and fills up the machine. the cure is to take the drain pipe up in a swan neck as high as you can under the sink
