Laser printers are not recommended for UPS systems because they draw large amounts of power for the fuser when printing.

The UPS should be fine with just the computer plugged in.

I wonder if you are talking about a coffee maker?
It ended up being listed under Vacuums!-
Sorry about that-- It sounds like you arehaving trouble getting the maker to boil water, and move it thru the maker, no?

Anyway-- I don't see why leaving it 'on' all night should have done anything wrong-
But maybe the Coffee maker guys know more about this repair than we do in Vacuums-
Sorry about that

Replaced batteries, plugged in unit. Unit stated "BATTERY FAILURE" Plugged unit in over night, now shows PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP across the screen. What is wrong?

What PW9120 do you have?
If its the 700VA then it could be that diode MUR460 is shorted (one of two large axial diodes near the front end of the heatsink).

Hi,do I have to keep my ups plugged to a wall socke all the time?

hi,
the unit needs to be plugged in all the time. the unit is or should be fully automatic. higher priced units have a usb cord so you can check their status right on the computer, does your ups have a usb outlet? you might want to take it up to a computer store and buy a usb cable and then you can control your UPS with your computer. manually turning the UPS on and off shouldnt hurt anything.
good luck

My 485VA back up system beeps after I have a few things plugged into it. Does the beeping mean the battery is bad?

Try only the computer and monitor - it may be overloaded, 485VA is around 400W only, so it won't accomodate much more than a standard computer + monitor.
Especially a laser printer is very power consuming and should not be connected to any UPS.

UPS does not provide output power to outlets when turned on.

Hello

I've never seen a schematic for this. It's difficult to diagnose online but I would look at the primary circuit before the inverter. Possibly one or more bad caps or the inverter itself. Good Luck

Unit is switching to battery power for now reason.

Any UPS monitors the incoming AC level to determine if it is needed or not.  I think the APC unit doesn't know any more when it is needed; it's sick.
