I just bought an XO1915BT DVD player and installed it. I have the pink brake wire grounded with the other ground. It worked fine for me until I tried putting a DVD in. It played the FBI warning on the DVD...

http://www.xovision.com/pdf/XO1915BT.pdf

this is your owners manual for your radio
it shows me the pink wire is not for parking break but remote control for amp

gray wire is your parking break wire

i think you fried you dvd/radio

Radio stopped working after alternator went out

firstly check the fuse box of the car and check the radio fuse

then check the fuse in the back of the radio ( if there is one)

if they are all ok then
inplugg the radio and check using a voltmeter if you are getting the correct voltages in the plug

red should be 12v
yellow should be iggnition
black ground

I have a 2000 cadillac sls. Battery ran down, can't use radio&CD

Try disconnecting your battery for 10 minutes to reset the radio and factory amp. Disconnect negative terminal only and avoid touching your 8mm wrench to the positive post(s). Read the warnings on top of the battery about smoking and open flames and safety glasses too, or you can read the owner's manual and pull the radio memory fuse for 10 minutes.
