Try and replace the fuse that was found damaged. if the fuse blows out again there are errors in the main power supply whcih is the SMPS unit.

Need Service manual for Sony PVM-2541. I have 1st edition but this does not cover G1 power supply board schematic diagram and parts list. I need to identify D6006/D6008 and TVS6004

You may be able to find the service manual for your Sony PVM-2541 by contacting Sony directly or by checking online electronics forums and websites that specialize in service manuals. Some websites may require a fee to access their service manuals. Here are a few options to consider:
  1. Contact Sony: You can try contacting Sony directly and asking if they can provide you with a service manual for your model. You can reach them at 1-800-222-7669 or through their website.
  2. Check online forums: There are many online forums and communities dedicated to electronics repair and service. You can try searching for your model on these forums to see if anyone has shared a service manual or can offer advice.
  3. Search for service manual websites: There are websites that specialize in providing service manuals for a variety of electronic devices. Some of these sites require a fee to access their manuals, but they may have the specific manual you need. Be sure to read reviews and check the legitimacy of the site before making any purchases.
Please note that accessing service manuals can be risky and should only be done by experienced professionals with the necessary knowledge and tools. Incorrect repairs can be dangerous and can cause further damage to the device.

Pvm 2530 turns reddish color soon after turned on

This might be a CRT base card fault. Replace the CRT connecting socket at this card. The fault technically called as 'one color predominant screen'. If you wish to get some more details about this kind of fault to CRT TVs, check this link. Pull up older posts there. One among these posts have detail descriptions.

When I turn on the camera I get a white screen on hte monitor and nothing in the viewfinder. This occurs in the still, record and playback modes.

Hi,
It sounds video processor is not getting voltage from sub power supply section on main board of camcorder that is why you do not get any video output in lcd or viewfinder in any mode.
I'm Sony camcorder tech and can help you if you are handy with electronics stuff repair and can take apart camcorder easily with proper tools.
In my opinion, there would be fuse blow out that provides volts to video signal section. Let me know exact model number of camcorder to proceed and if you feel uncomfortable working on camcorder then local camera repair shop is an option to get it fixed.
Hope these info will help you.
Thanks.

Main board fused

Try looking on 'www.eBay.com' -- although it may be cheaper to buy a new 17" monitor.

Same exact problem.

Hi!
If the camera shows the menu very dark too, could be a dead display backlight fuse. If you have experience with soldering and a multimeter, you can contact me at [email protected] and I can help you locate the fuse on the main board. Otherwise, contact your local Sony service center.
