Question about Car Speakers & Subwoofers

Open Question

I have a Kenwood KVT-512 headunit (the 7" flipout DVD player). I just recently installed it in my new car and since the installation I have noticed one small problem. I set the monitor settings so that the "angle" and "slide" are how I like them. They will then stay in this position for a good amount of time. Sometimes they will stay to this position/setting after turning the car on and off a couple times. However, after several (no specific number) times of turning the car off and then back on at a later point, when the monitor flips back out it resets itself to a very undesirable position so I then have to go back into the settings while driving and adjust the angle and slide all over again. Any ideas why?!

Mine does the same thing pretty much, except the only thing that gets changed is the angle, the slide stays the same. But sometimes when i turn the car on and off some amount of times the angle will be readjusted and I have no idea why.

SOURCE: how do i set up

The Kenwood 512 works with the Kenwood KCE-BT200 module. You need to have this box plugged into the main unit to work. If not, then Bluetooth will not be available. When you do have it connected, use your cellular phone to initiate the connection. when prompted on your phone for a passcode, it will be 0000. After successfully pairing your phone to the unit, you can access the telephone menu by holding the "FNC" key on the front of the Kenwood or pressing "TEL" from the source screen.

SOURCE: code kenwood kvt-512

We can't supply a security code for this radio, you will need to contact Kenwood customer support. The code is secured information and are a theft deterrent. To override them takes a code that only Kenwood can supply. You will need to have registered the product with Kenwood or provide other proof of ownership.

Kenwood KVT-847DVD radom reset problem

I solved this by changing where the power for the DSP unit was coming from the manual specifys to connect them to the same +12 connector for display and DSP and it worked fine in the Series 1 however for some reason in the series 2 the DSP unit draws too much power from the headunit +12 power connector and as soon as the unit fires bass in a song etc it drags it down to the point of the display shutting off, I change the +12 on the DSP unit to my 4GA +12 power cable through an adaptor block and it has worked fine since.

your parking break must be on in order to view video on the screen. its a common safety on most in car dvd screens intended to be installed in-dash

I have a cd stuck in my kenwood kvt 719 head unit and the touch screen controls for the dvd are not appearing.

Have you tried hitting the "Reset" button on the head unit?

The procedure is on page 7 of the owner's manual under the heading "How to reset your unit"

Here's the URL for the Owner's Manual:
http://inform3.kenwoodusa.com/manuals/KVT-719DVD.pdf

Per the owner's manual, you're supposed to call Kenwood technical support if the display doesn't correctly reset or come back on and/or if the disc won't eject.
