The Internet connection on my HP mini netbook keeps timing out. It will work for 10 - 20 minutes, before being unable to open any more pages. Meanwhile the internet connection is stil active, and I can...

Try removing internet explorer and reinstalling. If that doesn't work try using Firefox instead, that will help to figure out where the problem is (eg. if firefox works fine you know the problem is with IE) and at least you'll have a better browser, and a backup if needed.

If reinstalling IE didn't solve the problem, then you may have a virus, try using an antivirus program, such as Avast (the only one I use) and some anti spyware/malware programs, such as Adaware and Spybot:search and destroy (both preferably).

Oh and if you have any 'toolbar' addons such as google toolbar or yahoo toolbar etc, then get rid of them, they are spyware (they send info back on what you do) and will only cause problems, especially if you have a few of them.

Hi! i have a acer aspire one, everytime i switch my laptop on it pops up with a privacy center and i cant get rid of it?

Privacy Center, or PrivacyCenter, is a rogue anti-spyware program designed to trick users into purchasing its full rogue version. Privacy Center looks similar to Privacy Components. Privacy Center may infect your computer through a Trojan, spam emails or it may have come bundled with another malicious program. Privacy Center sells itself as an effective spyware remover tool, however, all it does is make you believe you're infected with numerous spyware threats to offer its "licensed" program.

Go to the link below and download and run MalwareBytes Anti-Malware program. When it installs it will ask to update and run, please do both. Once it updates, run the program and perfrom a QUICK scan only. When it is through scanning it will ask you to click on the show results button. When you do that it will show you the infections it has found, make sure they are all selected and delete them. You should be malware free now.

When I launch Internet Explorer, I get a screen called system 32 containing lots of files. I have to close it to go on. How do I correct this?

Hello mate,
my first suggestion will be scanning your computer from any Virus,Spyware,Maleware,Trojan...
You can also restore your computer to a previous date when it was working fine.
and finally i strongly suggest to use other browsers like Firefox and Google Chrome, they are more friendly and faster than IE.

I keep trying to quarantine then delete issues with webroot anti virus but my computer keeps freezing up and won't do anything, when I cont. alt delete, it says task manager has been diabled by...

Sounds like you have spyware or a trojan rather than a virus. You can try a restore point if there is one or you can try SPYBOT to see if it can delete it effectively.Webroot is probably causing the freezing from not being able to shut the program down first then eliminating it or its not made to really get rid of spyware/trojans/worms etc at all. There are very few Anti-Virus-Spyware removers that actually work as well as they are advertised.

Virtumonde virus/spyware

One of the first things you can try is a program called Vundofix. ( But in my experience it only removes about 60% of cases. Depending on your expertise, your comfort level with command line and how important your data on your computer is. You have a couple of options:
1. You could reformat your computer (This has the down side of removing all of your data and programs but is much faster and easier than the other fixes)
2. You could (with guidance try to remove it yourself (This has the down side of being time consuming but will save all of your information and will have the satisfaction of a job well done)
3. Take it in to a professional (Virtuemonde is one of the top 3 infections I see everyday in my line of work)
