Is your phone in the frozen state even after removing the battery for two full minutes? If the phone is still frozen you will not be able to do anything with the phone until this is resolved. And the way to do that is to do a hard reset. Unfortunately there may be no other alternative but a hard reset. The new Samsung Instinct has mobile sync which automatically backs up your contacts into your sprint.com account so if this type of thing were to ever happen you would have the comfort of knowing that your address book was still intact.

Hi my htc touch viva is seized up. what can I do if nothing moves on the screen?

try restarting it.... if still frozen ... open the back cover and remove the battery... replace it after 10 minutes.... start the phone.. if all is ok then fine else you can soft reset the phone ...if still not working then hard reset the phone...before you try anything back up your phone....check the manual to know how.

My htc touch pro 2 smart phone screen is locked and seems to be frozen, I have reset and removed battery with no results how can I unlock this screen?

It might be a hardware problem, if you already tried the soft reset (removing the battery) then the next step is to hard rest. This will lose all your information and settings, the phone will be like the first day you took it home (and hopefully the screen will work)
First make sure the phone is off, then press and hold the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons until you see a message on the screen.
Once the message appears release the buttons and press the volume up key for a hard reset.
Goodluck!

Touch Screen won't work

usually when the touchscreen goes out its a software issue. I would have it replaced. you can allways try a soft reset. take out the battery. if that don't work back up your info and do a hard reset, that will wipe everythong out and reset the phone. if it still don't work, replace it.

HTC touch HD is completley frozen

If you have all your items saved to your computer with Active Sync, then do a master reset:
HTC Touch hard reset 14 January 2008
  • Power on.
  • Press and hold buttons marked 1.
  • Press and release 2 with stylus.
  • Release buttons marked 1 when menu comes up.
  • Press directly down on center dpad, marked 3.
You can also get tips & tricks from www.htcwiki.com
It has the latest and great updates, software, even known issues if you ever come across this. HTC does recommend that you do a master/hard reset once a quarter to keep it moving smoothly. Also, ensure you don't have a lot of open running programs. Perhaps once a day, clean the cashe and history. Do a soft reset (aka battery pull) once or twice a week. All depends on how hard you play with this lovely PDA device!

G1 keeps frezing up. tryed to reset but it still frezing up.

do a hard reset.
1. Turn the G1 off. If it’s frozen on, take the battery out and put it back in the unit.
2. Hold the Home and Power keys down at same time for about 25 seconds. You will see a yellow triangle screen with exclamation point in the middle.
Now to wipe the device clean:
3. Press Alt+L.
4. Press Alt+W for a factory reset.
5. Press the Home and Back keys again for about 25 seconds.
The device should then reset again and the hard reset is complete.
