Question about Belkin F5D7330 802.11g/b Wireless Adapter

1 Answer

Similar Install Problem

I'm having the same problem posted by 'Piqueteer' (Oct 25, 2007) except the solution given to him was left slightly open. My main problem being:

"in the install CD step up, it asks me to select an adapter from the list below, but no device is listed, anyone know how I can get it to appear?"

I've tried everything within my limits but I just do not know how to fix this. The "power", "wireless" and "LAN" lights are all green and everything is plugged in exactly as said on the instruction manual but it still does not show anything in the 'Select the adapter from the available list' section on the install CD. I know sandrew's reply was to not use the installation CD, but I don't know why or what I should do instead of using the CD, as the reply was slightly confusing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Not sure if you still need the help, was a long time ago, but you have to wait for the belkin to be recognised by the computer and create a local area connection for it to detect the adapter.
Also, trying using another computer if it doesn't find straight away/

My Netgear WG111v2 adapter seems to have given up. Tried re-installing software but the PC does not seem to recognize the existence of the hardware. Any ideas or do you think it's Donald D'd

Sounds like, may be the first time you install the software driver you might have selected the option "Donot prompt me to install the software Again"
Open Device manager and find is there is any exclamation mark next to the Wireless adapter, if so uninstall the driver and search for new hardware, it should work.
Good Luck.

It could be possible the soldering points have come loose inside. Find a way to open the case and look at the solder where the USB port connects to the circuit board. I had a similar problem with my wireless USB antenna. Very carefully try to get the solder fixed if that is the problem and it should function normally again.
