I have a Proheat 2X and had the same problem. I don't know if this will work with your unit... but I tried the Water Rinse setting and found water came out and was suctioned properly, but on the Light Clean, Normal Clean, and Heavy Traffic settings, the unit failed to do anything. Problem may be with leaving the soap dispenser in-place, which might scum up the tubing.
SO, an alternative to throwing out my unit and buying something else was to put one capful of the Bissell soap in the water resevoir and keep the unit on Water Rinse. IT WORKS BEAUTIFULLY NOW. Don't know if this will help, but at least I didn't have to buy a new unit. Rinse everything after using and there's been no problem.

How do you change machine from carpet cleaning to hard floor cleaning? Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The Bissell 9500 ProHeat 2X Clean Shot Upright are mainly designed to do mostly carpet, you can use it for bare floors, but for good wood floors I would use less water and pickup the water ASAP because you don’t want the good wood floor to warp - linoleum floors are fine but be careful with wood floors, and remember that the Bissell 9500 ProHeat 2X Clean Shot Uprights Clean on the pull back, you squeeze the trigger, dispense water, the machine will use the scrubbing brushes to clean and the vacuum will pickup the water all in one smooth motion. For further information please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in the area or the yellow pages or contact the Bissell Factory @ the information listed below: http://www.bissell.com/By Phone Customer Service: (800) 237-7691 Hours: M-F 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. ET Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. ET Thanks,Don – The Vac Man Go Ahead.Use Us.

My ProHeat 2x bucks and catches when I try to push it forward-help! Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Bissell 9500 ProHeat 2X Clean Shot Upright The Bissell is not designed to be like a vacuum – it is designed to clean on the pull back, you dispense the Bissell cleaning fluid, the brushes scrub the carpet and the suction will vacuum up the excess water, the push forward will do the reverse action. You may want to refer to your owner’s manual and check out the trouble shooting guide for no water coming out. You may want to contact the factory or manufacturer to see if they have service tech support or to send out a new owner’s manual for your current model #.
