Question about Averatec AV6130HS 20 Notebook
It may be necessary to replace the BIOS IC if it is socketed and if it is not stored in flash there, you may have trouble ever accessing the password.
There might be a 'hack' to learn the password but that is out of my experience.
If you can prove the unit is yours, maybe Averatec will supply you with a way to bypass the password.

the best way to remove a bios password is to have the bios reset by a program called "winternals" this can be done by any pc repair shop

SOURCE: BIOS Locked
You should be able to reset it by disconnecting the CMOS battery. Unfortunately, you have to partially disassemble the computer to find that battery. I really can't tell you where it is, but in some computers you can access it through the main battery enclosure. The motherboard may have a jumper that has to be reset to clear the CMOS memory or maybe just disconnecting the battery will do it.
