Question about Fuji FinePix F700 Digital Camera

1 Answer

FinePix blurred image

My Finepix was working OK and now when I switch it on, it looks like the colours are running down the viewer. It is just the same when I try to download. Can this be fixed?

Your answer was very helpul in that I will no longer hang on to a broken camera. I just wanted to make sure as I really liked the fact that it was re-chargable on a dock. I suppose I will have to try to find another one that does that! Thanks very much for replying - it was much appreciated.

Almost the same problem, but when the camera is switched on the screen shows green, black and red colours. When the shoot button is activated the result is worse than the image on the screen. However the playback of old pictures taken are crispy clear.A mate of mine said that it could be the CCD,I hope not.

Please let me know how I can get this sorted out.

    Thank You.

You get a picture with sharp and correct colored parts as well as parts blurred with wrong colors?
I assume this only happens indoors, when you use the flash?
It sounds like you are using Slow Synchro flash mode.
Try switching the flash mode to Auto instead.

Software problems(?) with a digital camera.

You could try right clicking on finepix viewer and go properties. On the compatibility tab tick the box in "run this program for..." and select xp then go apply and ok and then try it. It might just be a compatibility issue

Fuji j10 - my mac wont recognise it even using finepix

I had the same problem with my camera & mac.  I got this off the Fuji site and it worked for me:
If images cannot be downloaded from the camera to a Macintosh, check the status of the camera and the Macintosh and resolve the problem accordingly.

1) Check the status of the camera and Macintosh.
1. Connect your camera to the Macintosh and turn the camera on.
2. Open the "Applications" folder on the Macintosh HD.
3. Double-click "Image Capture".
* If the "Imaging device not connected" message appears, follow the steps described in [Checking the connection between the camera and PC].
4. Select "Preferences" from the "Image Capture" menu.
5. The procedure for using the Image Capture Preferences window differs depending on the OS version used. Use the correct procedure for your version of Mac OS.
- Mac OS 10.4: Click "General" in the Image Capture Preferences window.
- Mac OS 10.3: Click "Camera" in the Image Capture Preferences window.
- Mac OS 10.2: Simply proceed to the next step.
6. In "Items launched at camera connection", select "FPVBridge" and then click the [OK] button.
* If FPVBridge is not among the displayed items, follow the steps in [Displaying FPVBridge] below.
7. Quit "Image Capture".

If you implement the above procedure up to step 6, FinePix Viewer launches automatically.
* To stop FinePix Viewer from launching automatically, follow the steps in [FinePix Viewer Setup] below.

Finepix S5700

This is from Fuji when I emailed them with the same problem.

Is their a yellow question mark, red cross or similar next to finepix ptp camera in device manager ?
Do you have an all in one scanner/printer or a webcam connected to windows xp pc ?
As it is possible the above may conflict with the camera.

We will temporarily disable your scanner.
Please try the following,
Connect your scanner, switch the scanner on, right click on Computer, left click on Properties, left click on Hardware and left click on Device Manager.
Please left click on the plus sign next to Imaging Devices, your scanner will be listed in this section.
Right click on the scanner, left click on Disable, click on Yes, a red cross will appear next to the scanner and please do not restart pc.
Please switch the scanner off or disconnect, connect the camera and switch on.
In the same Imaging devices section, right click on Finepix ptp camera, left click on uninstall, click on OK, do not restart pc and please switch the camera off.
Please double left click on the finepix viewer program icon on your desktop, please click on the drop down menu, SETTINGS, left click on OPERATION SETTINGS WHEN CAMERA IS CONNECTED.
Please untick AUTOSTART FINEPIX VIEWER WHEN THE CAMERA IS CONNECTED, click on OK and then restart computer.
After your pc has rebooted and you are back to desktop, please switch the camera on.
The Fuji camera will be re-installed, a box should appear in the middle of your screen, click on scanner & camera wizard.
If the box does not appear then please double left click on my computer, right click on the Fuji camera model, left click on Get Pictures and follow the on screen prompts to download the images.

Didn't work for me and I gave in and bought a card reader, but it's worth a shot.

Check out the Fiji Tech support team. Depending on the age of the camera there may be a swap out option. Independent repair will not be an economic prop.
