My dell hk395 speakers making noise

My harman/kardon speakers or dell speakers are making fuzzy sounds when i turn the volume up and down, i think it is the volume knob on the speaker because i wiggled the volume knob on the speaker and it made a loud noise.

When I wiggle mine, it puts the left speaker to the max with the sub too!
Sometimes it lowers it or turns it off. Sometimes it goes to normal.
I opened it, and saw that the volume "knob" has to be well pressed on the board. I will try to get a pro to unsolder it and put is back normally!
Hope it will help or give you ideas!
I opened the speakers. Very simple!
But do not have them plugged and touch the board. Short circuit = no more!

What cable connects a Dell PC to a Harmon Kardon HK395 sub woofer?

3.5 m/m. Normally it is color coded green. The pink connects the subwoofer to the speakers. Any color will work. Just mark both ends of wire jacks.

Crackling static noice

Hi Roovejet.

The capacitor 104 is 0.1uf ceramic has no reading with analogue multimeter in any range of ohms scale.
if it read any of ohms value ,it is bad.
please check the large electrolytic capacitors too and loose connection for the board and.if you have volume controllers clean it with alcohol or contact cleaners.
if your device is older than 5 years it is time to change all the electrolytic capacitors.its sound like foolish but it brings new life and same quality when your buying time to the sound system.

regards.

Try http://www.redplanettrading.com/search.php?mode=search&page=1. They have the HK395 model for a pretty good deal and they might be willing to cut you a deal for just the part.

Speakers making loud pitchy noise

If they are computer speakers try this: (remember i am doing this from a windows vista) on the bottom right hand of the screen there should be a volume key right click on it and click on playback devices then right click on your speakers and click properties and go to levels and turn down the volume from there and see does that work... hope this helps.

You can find the drivers on the Dell website under the support section. You will need your computer model or your Dell service tag. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

Fuzzy sounding speakers

All laptops have a way of adjusting the speaker volume. Usually by way of the "fn" key and two keys with little speakers on them. Change the volume by those keys while holding down the "fn" key.
