Wrong keys printing

When I type certain letters or numbers the wrong ones print, not the ones on the keys. Is there something I can do to correct this? I really dont know if it has anything to do with the daisy wheel, I dont think ours has one. I think my daughter accidently pressed one key on the keyboard (i.e. code) and made the characters change. Is that possible?

My email address is afannjsapc.com if anyone can send me the manual, I would greatly appreciate that.

Thank you all for your time.

My typewriter types the wrong letters when I type. I shut it off then turn back on that sometimes corrects the problem for a short time but then it starts doing it again.

    Our model is SX-4000

We had an issue where it was typing out weird characters and found online that we should replace the daisy wheel. I had my doubts about that so I tried just taking out the daisy wheel and put it back in and it resolved the issue.

Hope that helps others in the same predicament

Our keys are wrong. We hit an A and it comes up a K. All the keys type a different letter.

Make sure that you loaded a correct printhead for the typewriter. If it is correct, is the print head loaded correctly?

When typing wrong letters and numbers type

You might have a "proportional space" printwheel but the pitch selector is on 10, 12, or 15 instead of PS. OR it is on PS but you have a normal print wheel. Try selecting different pitches. Another thing that causes that problem is sometimes the ribbon or correction tape gets caught in the printwheel.

Wrong letters are printed

The Daisy wheel is probably in wrong..reinstall it until it spins to the home position. Its either that or an adjustment to the print wheel motor.

Hold the Fn key then hit F11. This toggles the numeric nubers to letters and vice versa.

Wong letters & numbers

I downloaded the manual from http://www.devicemanuals.com/downloadguide.php and then, following the instructions there, I removed then re-inserted the daisy wheel. This solved my problem. Perhaps it had somehow gotten out of adjustment. At least, it is something to try if you haven't tried it already.
