My acer aspire notebook D260 will not start up! it keeps asking me to put cd rom in to reboot. when i press f8 on start up it keeps bleeping and wont let me reboot from there. What can i do now?

You can not format your hard drive using it's on software on the same hard drive. Because your notebook does not come with a DVD rom or CD rom what you need to do is to get yourself an external DVD rom which you connect to the computer with a USB cable. Then you use the disc of the operating system that you want to use on that Notebook. When you reboot the operating system disc will be recognized and on the screen you will be asked to press any key if you want to run the disc. So you will press and follow the instructions the rest will take you to formatting the disc and loading the operating system.

Reboot means restarting the pc after a simple power off - so there is no reboot disk.

Go into your BIOS and select DVD/CD rom as first boot device.
Put your System Disc in the DVD/CD rom drive and restart the laptop.

insert the bootable disk into your cd ROM.Restart the Laptop and goto your bios setup to change the first boot to CD/DVD ROM.save it and exit.it will ask you to press any key to boot from CD/DVD ROM.press and follow the wizard instruction

remember if using the method, to download a sata driver from acers website for the hard drive

I am not familiar with that particular laptop but generally when any computer is booting up, before Windows starts, you can press a key (usually F2 or F12 or ESC or DEL) and go into the BIOS (built in operating system) and there usually is a setting there to restore defaults.

first of all you have to restart your system and when you do press f8 and choose safe mode and when you enter to your os you can disable the password or you can change it

this could be the computer trying to boot off a USB device plugged into the computer.Check that you don't have any USB devices plugged in. and no CD in the drive. then reboot the computer.

1. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard.
2. Select an option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and then press ENTER.
3. When the Boot menu appears again, and the words "Safe Mode" appear in blue at the bottom.
4. try that and see it works.
if so reboot and then use the last known configuration option.

fist you have install the windows cd
and repari the yor oprating system, and your cd rom is not work you have to install extrnal dvd drive .........ok
