SOURCE: how do you replace the pre filter catch on a dc07

The pre filter retaining clip is easy to fit, but hard to get the old one out. This is the easy way to do it:-
Turn the machine over, where the bottom of the clip should be is a plate blocking access, it is held in place by a torex headed screw. DO NOT remove this. Instead drill about an 8mm hole through the plastic plate, roughly in the middle level with the large 'A'. This will give you access to the bottom of the clip. Put a flat blade scewdriver through your new access hole and push out the broken clip. It should spring out with a couple of knocks with the palm of your hand. Turn the machine upright and push in the new clip. The hole is not seen and as long as it is a neat job, does not affect the strength of the plate.
Cheers Malc.

or take the torx screws out and remove the vent that they hold (this is hard) you need to work it like crazy (taking the hepa filter out (under the dustbin) helps). then you can just use a hammer and flat head screwdriver. no drilling needed

My wire has come loose at the handle part of my dc07 as my machine keeps turning off when I catch the lead

That's dangerous stuff. Get a certified appliance tech to sort that. I give advice on stuff that won't kill you only. If you need to ask this question then you should not be fixing it. Sorry.

How to replace pre filter catch?

Unscrew this one screw to do it. wiggle the loose bit. until you can fit a flat head screwdriver into the gap the catch fits into . Dunt the bit out. Screw back into place. Push the catch in from the front until it clicks. 7ca98fa9-c03c-4ffb-ba67-ae98528a7147.jpg

The grey pre-filter catch broke and we got a new one. now we don't know how to remove the old one.

Hi Sabine,

You can remove the remaining section of the original catch by levering it out with a very small screwdriver. The new one should then clip into place. If you need any further assistance, please give our Helpline a call free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards,

The grey pre-filter catch broke and we ordered a new one. now we don't know how to install it.

I just successfully completed this replacement on a DC33 (the prefilter catch is blue on this model.) Not sure how different the assembly is from the DC07 but thought I would post: If you turn the vacuum over there are two screws that loosen the exhaust pipe--one you can see and one up a small shaft (which also loosens the cowling just under the cyclonic assembly.) Both will require a driver or allen-style wrench with a medium-sized star head. Remove both and you will be able to take off the exhaust pipe. You'll need to pull back the aforementioned cowling a bit as you do this. Once the exhaust pipe is off you will be able to see the bottom of the prefilter catch. You'll notice five tiny bays--if you shine a flashlight through you'll see that between bays 2 and 3 there is a small catch (you can note it at the bottom of your replacement prefilter catch as well.) Shove two extra small screw drivers (like the size you get in eyeglass repair kits) into bays 2 & 3, then gently press down on the driver handles to release the catch. A little pushing at the same time will remove your broken prefilter catch. DON'T INSTALL YOUR NEW CATCH YET! Otherwise, like me, you'll have to immediately remove it to reinstall the exhaust pipe :) This was the most time consuming part of the whole operation, as you kind of have to fenangle it a bit to get it back on. Be patient and don't forget to pull the cowling back again while you're doing this. Once it's back on, realign the cowling at the top of the assembly and replace the screws. Then you can turn the vacuum upright again to easily snap in your new prefilter catch.

Whwre do u put the pre-motor filter on electronic renaissance vacuum

The filter goes under the tool caddy. Press the latch just behid the bag door. Prees the two tabs toward each other to release the catch of the tool holder and lift out. Remove filter and replace.
Slip back of tool caddy in first, then press front down to latch it. Close the top and you're done.
