Is probably a binding problem with the motor shaft bearing or the circuit card is fried. If you've tried giving it a good cleaning and that didn't work it's a good bet the unit is junk. Suggest buy a new one.
Not for the motor - perhaps for circuit breaker. If you overheated the motor by blending a liquid with excessive viscosity you may have burned out the unit. Or maybe the motor overheated and a protective thermistor has shut off power to allow it to cool off. Give it another hour or so before making any conclusions.
It Could Be a Number of Things..
It's most likely that the electrical Wire Could Have a Shortage, If it cuts off again Try gently Wiggling the Electrical Wire in a Number of Directions If it cuts on and off while your fidgeting with it, you've found your Problem! A quick fix would be to Adjust the wire In the position it would cut on the strongest, wrap the cord with Tape to Keep the wire in that Position, this will Prevent it from shorting again.
Either that or you simply put too much product in the Blender with an inadequate amount of liquid.
Subject: Rechargeable Portable Blender Model No. 850-870
I was given one of these blenders for Christmas. I charged it through 3 cycles, used it once and the battery was dead. Charged it through another 5 charge cycles and used it once only to then have another dead battery. I have put it through at least another 8 charge cycles, and it indicates a DEAD battery. I have managed to blend two (2) 3/4 full pitchers in total. On trying to start it now the green light 'flickers' quickly on and shuts down.
This is a totally useless device.
I would like to return it for a full refund, including shipping.
This is normal for household type blenders. Sounds like you do a lot of blending. Commercial blenders provide more power and can withstand lots of blending projects. Thicker the material the more load on the motor. As the motor heats up the winding become hot and the motor begins to breakdown,
I really hope this helps answer your question. If not please let me know... Thanks, Sea Breeze
COMMON sorry to say , the problem is with the control , there is no fix except to return it . what i have been telling people is untill appliaces start getting better and not just this PRETTY JUNK from china go find a goodwill store and get a nice 20 year old blender and you will have it for years . or if you have the bucks buy a VITA-MIX there good but expensive good luck
I have the same problem. Mine used to work, has only seen light use, and now it runs for about 1 second before it shuts off. Expensive POS. There don't seem to be any solutions either.
to see if its the Triac or just the off button perform this: connect the blender, while pressing the off button press the on button; if the blender stays on and you dont hear the relay function (Light ticky sound) maybe the off button get a broken solder point. But if the relay is functioning and there is no way to change the speed the problen is the TRIAC. This is a small piece on PCB with a heat sink
I have had great luck talking to Back to Basics - here is their info...if it is new- should be under warranty.
