I have the same trouble with the same TV model. I can solder, and I have some experience with digital electronics, but none with television receivers.
Where is the vertical circuit located, and how can I access it without disturbing any of the adjustments?

I found the vertical deflection circuit - got the Sanyo LA7837 datasheet from the web so I knew what to look for - and re-soldered it as suggested. The TV now work perfectly!

    Thanks much, Dan!

This is a problem with the vertical circuit and is relatively common. If you can solder you can fix this yourself. First try resoldering the pins on the vertical IC. If that fails to resolve the problem, replace the IC. This IC is a small flat IC attached to a heatsink having about 11 pins or so. Is will be marked LA7837 or something similar. Post the marking here and I'll confirm the part.

Keep us posted.

Tv has horizontal line in middle of screen, sanyo ds25390

hi if only a horizontal line across with no video anymore, you have bad either vertical ic or no dc supply b+( vertical ic ) or no output dc coming from the ic. if it is not totally a horizontal white line and you can see a video you must check leak or bulged capacitors at the vertical section near the vertical ic. hope this can help good luck.

My 27" ( aprx 6 yrs old)Tv first had only a horizontal line across the screen about 1/2" wide, good sound but no picture, now it only clicks like its turning on and off when you plug the tv in, no pictue...

It has gone into a self protect mode where it will shut down because you have a fault in the frame stage of the TV (horizontal line). This will most likely be a failure of the frame output IC. Replace this & you should restore the normal picture.

We have a Sony Triniton 32 inch TV we bought approximately in 2000. For a couple of weeks we had horizontal lines across the screen, then it just went black, no audio, nothing. Just comes on and off....

It is probably you horizontal output or horizontal output drivers. The newer TVs derive all there power from the horizontal circuit. This can only be fixed by an experienced technician as that area produces in excess of 20,000 volts to light the screen. Don't try to fix it your self as you could cause more damage or be electrocuted.

Horizontal 'pinstripe' lines on all channels

sound like the screen control on the flyback is set just a little too high. the flyback has the red wire attached to the tube. the flyback has 2 small adjustable controls. if you look close enough 1 is marked focus & on is screen. turn the screen slightly to the left & look at your picture. the screen is like a master brightness & if it's up too high you will see what is called retrace lines. good luck.
