Several things you need to check before replacing actual parts.
First, check the connection to the inverter for the lcd. Sometimes the connection can become loose causing a blank lcd but the motherboard is working fine. Next would be to actually replace the inverter if only the lcd does not power on at all. Even if lcd is blank you can see that the lcd is on but no picture in which case your video card could have failed and in many cases requires changing the motherboard because video is integrated into the board. Good luck. its ok, but when I success turn on my lap-top he work properly
So, if your motherboard is turning on and the fan comes on than for now you can check to see if your back light turns on for your lcd panel by going to a dark place and turn ont he laptop there. Than check if you see a faint light that stays on or a flicker. If you see a faint light or the display is dim than it is the inverter on the lcd panel otherwise you may need to replace the video card which can be integrated onto the motherboard and may require a new motherboard. All depends on the model you have.
