How to remove the MP700 printhead?

That´s the problem - how to remove the MP700 printhead? I searched all the net and did not find any explanation how to do this, only how to clean the printhead. In ur office we use 2 MP700s and suddenly within one week, both had nozzles clogged. Since many self-cleanings did not help, both had to go for expensive printhead replacement in service and now we´re without any printer. I´d clean or replace the printheads myself, if I only knew how to remove the printhead.
Thx for any advice.

I keep getting error message wrong cartridge on my canon image class mp700 printer. I have taken the cartridges out and the message is still flashing. Have uninstalled the soft ware and reinstalled it....

Try cleaning the printhead and the area inside the print where the print head connects. Use folded tissue soaked in a bit f methylated spirit. If this still doesn't work, then it most certain that the cartridges have become incompatible and have to be replaced. Cartridges becoming incompatible is usual, sometimes resulting from expiration. If replaced with original cartridges the issue should be resolved

Good luck & God bless!

  1. Lift the document cover to expose the platen glass.

  2. Wipe the platen glass (A), white areas (B), and transparent sheet (C) with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth moistened with water. The MP700 has one even platen glass and does not have an area like the one referenced in area (C).

  3. Then wipe with a clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth making sure there are no residues left, especially on the platen glass.

  4. Close the document cover and make a copy of a text document to confirm the black line has disappeared.

I would like to remove the printhead, so I can

You open the cover and let the inks come to the center. Remove all the inks and then lift the lever on the side of the carriage. The top of the printhead comes toward you and you lift straight out. You can soak the printhead in a shallow 1/4 inch of water for a couple hours and then dab gently on a paper towel, but don't scrub or scratch the nozzles on the bottom as they will be ruined.

The cartridge it's talking about is the printhead and not the inks. It's telling you you need a new printhead.QY6-0064-000 around $40.00

The printer will go through the process of printing but all i get is blank pages. I have full ink.

Either you need a new printhead,QY6-0064-000, or the purge assembly is not cleaning the printhead. Both can happen on this unit.

No Black print

Two things, either you need a new printhead, QY6-0064-000 around $40.00, or you will need a new purge assembly, if you do a cleaning without the black cartridge, and the ink on the little pad inside the printhead goes away, then you just need a printhead.

Canon MultiPASS MP700

I had the same problem. My 4 year old MultiPASS MP700 started banding magenta stripes across everything I printed.
I suspected the cyan printhead was clogged because the printhead tests showed two of the cyan columns as half missing.
Canon was less than helpful. I went off of my suspicion that I needed a new printhead. I found one from an online supplier for 50 bucks...better price than a new printer! I put the new print head in and it works like new.
