If your computer came with Vista there are no drivers for your wireless card. You can partition your hard drive into 2 logical drives and load Vista on one and XP on the other in a dual boot configuration. Then you will need to purchase an external USB wireless thumb adapter for accessing your wireless networks when you are using the XP operating system. When you boot in Vista your computers wifi will work fine. The hardware manufacturers are being forced by Microsoft not to release drivers for XP for new equipment under threat to pull licensing for Vista. This is the only way to get around it, unless you are capable of writing your own .inf driver files for the hardware. If you need my help feel free to contact me and I will help you further. This is Microsoft's way of strong arming everyone to migrate to Vista. I run dual boot configurations on all my equipment because some of my expensive tech software only runs in the XP environment. Vista is a powerful operating system if you have the equipment designed for it. It's a shame the removed so much of the backward compatability though. My e-mail address is geokohler@gmail.com if you need more help send me your number and I will call you for free to discuss your options in more detail. Please take the time to rate this fixya and I will provide you with free support whenever you need it directly.

There never will be drivers for your wifi card for vista unless you write the .ini Files your self. It's not that hard, You only have to make a few modifications to the vista .ini files. If you need help with this let me know. I only charge $65/hour for coding and I'm sure I could do It in under an hour.

Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection code 10

Hi,
Code 10 usually means the device driver is not compatible, outdated or corrupt.

Try uninstalling the wireless device again and then reinstall using the latest driver available from:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2259&OSFullName=Windows+Vista*+Home+Premium%2C+32-bit+version&lang=eng&strOSs=153&submit=Go!

NB If you're running XP, use the second one.

Hope this helps

Code 10, intel pro/wireless

You can try updating the drivers for that wireless adapter. If the same happens, you can try to uninstall it completely then reinstall it with the updated drivers.

You can also try to install it on a different slot or a different laptop to test the connection.

If you have other problems, go ahead and press the ask button and i'll answer it for you.
