C60 printer. The red light is on and after changing cartidge, it remains on. This does not allow me to even run a printer check. What can I do?

    I asked what I was to do when the red light remained on after I had changed my cartridge. The answer was that the cartidge was not installed correctly.

    This happened on the 2nd cartridge I put in. Have put in zillions of cartidges and do not think that this is the problem.

Unplug all connections and replug then
click start
right click my computer
go to hardware
device manager
ports ?printer
then click scan for new hardware changes icon

After upluging and repluging your printer and it did not work, you may try to uninstall and reinstal the printer in your machine. but of course you have to make sure that you have the right compatible cartridge.

    Also If you´re pressing the ink button and the carriage still does not moves
    is cause the level of the ink is low, but it does not finished yet. You
    must use the printer more, then the red light will stop to blink.

Red light stays on and printer won't print


My C60 Epson Stylus printer is not printing. First of all the paper jammed, I pull the paper from the front and since then the catridge holder is not going to the middle to print. also the green light keepon flashing and the red light stays on. I need your help.

keenepadgl, "Contact service engineer" for a C60 used to be all you could do. Now you can go to SSC Service Utility and download it. But the red light blinking (if that is all that is happening) simply means you have a ink cartridge that is low but not empty. If the red light stays on, then it means a ink cartridge is empty. By downloading SSC Service Utility you can solve about any problem you have with a C60. That's what the "Service Engineers" use. Check out the protection counter reset in SSC, that is the main reason people had to send their C60s to have serviced., and what service would do is press the reset button in SSC program. NOTE: I would go to inkmizer and get some cleaning fluid instead of nail varnish remover.

shellnbarry, As I stated in a previous post the red light flashing means an ink cartrdge is low but not empty. When the red light stays on it means an ink cartridge is empty. You can continue to use the printer until the red light stays on.

with regards to the status of the lights., its either the cartridges that you installed is not recognized by the printer's print head or cartridges are defective.
try these steps:
if all the inks are new take them out and get an eraser and rub the small chip gently so as to clean the contacts of the chip ( don't touch it with your finger ) reinsert the cartridges in the printer and allow it to charge.

Just re-installed the driver and then the Epson C60 printer/scanner. Doesn't print is #1 problem.....shows the printer as "ready", but doesn't print. Other problem is need to change a color cartridge and...

Have you tried pressing the maintenance button, press and hold it up until the cartridge holder moves to the place where you can change the cartridge. are there any error lights as well on the printer? red or flashing light?

If you´re pressing the ink button and the carriage still does not moves is cause the level of the ink is low, but it does not finished yet. You must use the printer more, then the red light will stop to blink and hold on, then you´ll be able to change the cartridge.

My troublesome printer


New ink comes with a strip attached at the ink hole and sensor area, makes sure u ermaove them also try to clean the catridge contacts in the printer

take the cartridge out clean the contacts with a cotton bud re-insert ana dtry a cleaning process via the HP software sometimes even with a new cartridge it will not print emediately
