Is there a reset or something that can get the Laser to function again? We have 40 Falcon 4420's and this happens frequently. Our solution has been to send them back and they fix them. There has to be a "trick" to it (or maybe not). All other functions work but the laser just does not come on. Thanks

Hi, I presume the PC you connect to has an internet connection. If so this is normal behaviour. When you connect to a PC via a USB cable and ActiveSync the connection is given an IP address via the host PC. If under the ActiveSync settings you are allowing the connected device to use the host PC's internet connection then the 4420 has access to the internet. simpuls. To get a connection to the internet you would require a different connection, i.e. wireless. You would also need a wireless access point or wireless router. Set the SSID and encryption on the wireless device and match it on the 4420. Hope this helps.

these scanners are user configurable, to prevent scanning of an inappropriate barcode, only the required barcode schema are enabled, if you look in your code book you will find that there is a page with listings and examples of the various different barcode schemes, in the section before that there should be a list of barcodes that allow you to program the device to use whichever barcode scheme you wish (as long as it is compatible with the scanner)
so you can enable the scanner to read 128, code 39 or EAN and also you can configure prefixes / suffixes depending on your software's requirements
