Question about HP Pavilion dv1000 Notebook

My HP ze 5700

I'm having problem after problem with my lap top. It first crashed on me in Arizona @ the Grand Canyon. Since then I've been having problems. I get a blue screen that has alot of codes and then I shut it down and re start. I've tried to go into safe mode, scanned it for problems, system restore and even brought Defender Pro from Walmart figuiring that would fix the problem but, it didn't. I ended up uninstalling the product. about 2 months ago a friend of mine installed Kaspersky (a free download) My Lap top was ok at first and I also could connect to the internet by wifi and by cable before the free down load. Now I don't have any network connections & I have double Icons in my control panel. I'm stuck and don't know what to do. If someone could help me out I'd really appreciate it. You can reach me at

Okay. Since you mentioned that your connection to the Internet is not possible since Kaspersky was installed, there must be a solution here. To remove Kaspersky, start your laptop and press F8 to choose to go on Debug Mode. After the program is removed (here you may have to restart your computer, to go the safest way...), you can activate an option so the computer writes a debug report and you can add the report to your request. To do so, you go to the control panel/System/Advanced/ In the third section, you select in the rolling list : partial memory (64K). The messages will be written in a file called Minidump. Restart your laptop.

Oups, sorry! I tried to get a minidump report on my laptop and it didn't work.

But, it is possible to see error messages that can cause your problem in the system manager. Click on Start and then right-click on My Computer. Then select Manage. Under system tools, you have a section called events viewer (I think). There, you will find the info you need, especially in the system section.

    Thank you!

System recvery win 8

No you cannot do that as it is registered to another PC. If it is new, contact the seller or hp and ask them for a suggestion otherwise you are looking at formatting ans starting again. However, if you have the COA code, download Win8 and use your code to re form the OS.

I won't shut down my laptop

Why is it exactly that you wont shut off your lap top...? I've actually hear that leaving you lap top on constantly is ok for the unit. I myself constantly leave my lap top on all the time and have had no issues with it. Hope this helps Shannon
