Turn off the DVR, then hit menu. Turn the TV ONLY back on and use the onscreen menu to set the CC "on". The only problem I have is I wanted it to only be CC when I mute the TV, but this will turn it on all the time. Hope this helps!

DON'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS BUT IS IT HDMI?

G'Day
Although you TV does not have HDMI inputs, you can get an adaptor from here to allow you to plug a HDMI connector into your TV. This will solve the problem for you. Could be a huge cost saving for you, to get the feature without having to upgrade your set. Cheers

You can also reset the user settings to the factory defaults.
You use the L, R, U, D and select buttons on either the front panel or the remote control to make the settings. You check and change the settings by looking at your set-top’s front panel. You can also look at the on-screen menus, although please note, in some circumstances these may not be visible.

Hope that helps.........

Cant get our HDMI to work on our JVC HD 58S998.

First, contrary to popular opinion, HDMI cables connect to a tv are not the best way to connect the two. The HDMI technology has flaws that often shows up as sound problems.

If your TV has the capability for component connections, use them. It will take 5 cables, 3 for video and 2 for audio. You will get superior sound and video. The 5 cables terminate in RCA type connectors and are much cheaper than an HDMI cable.

I hope this helps and solves your problem. :-)

Screen flicker when selecting Blu-Ray player w/ HDMI-1 selected.

Something to remember is that most HDMI setups on TV's have what is called a DVI/HDMI port, I would suggest not using anything on that port that isnot converted from DVI to HDMI. I bet if you look, that HDMI 1 on yours....

Samsung hl61750a - unable to display video service over hdmi

I was using an hdmi cable purchased online. A friend told me that it might be the 'cheap' hdmi cable. I tried a set of Monster hdmi cables and problem solved. So all hdmi cables are not the same.

Yes I get the same problem with my Sony XBR and its Pace PVR.
The problem seems related to using HDMI interconnects; viewing the PVR through component leads allows the TV to switch modes easily, otherwise I have to turn the tv off and then back on again.

nope.  While a true video-phile will insist that HDMI is better than the 5-wire jack, I can't tell the difference.

No picture but sound on panasonic plasma

Unplug the TV and disconnect any HDMI cables to the set. If the issue goes away there is a possibility that your HDMI source is causing the problem. Anything on the HDMI can cause odd problems with the TV since the serial data and serail clock lines are routed on HDMI. Those are the 2 commmunication lines used throught the TV for operation so anything HDMI that might load down one of those can cause issues.

Hdmi connections

Yes you should be able to do that. Make sure u switch between hdmi 1 and 2 on your tv. If you are still having problems try and get the tv company to fix the problem if they won't you could get a hdmi splitter on amazon for like 20 dollars.
