Question about Tomtom GO 910 GPS Receiver
My tom tom GO910 dosent work . When i charge it the green light turns on and when i trake it off the tomtom still dosent turn on . Is my battery dead or is it broken?
We have the same problem. It is a problem of contact. We have the same issues with the car adapter and the home adapter. If you hold the tomtom real firm on the adapter, it might load again, but you need to hold it. That is not a great solution! TomTom knows about this problem, but they don't solve it!!!!

Check your battery symbol.
On mine, the battery is dead (or mechanically disconneced inside).
You need to reset the unit by pressing the tiny button on the back.
Problem is that when you remove the unit from the charging stand, the dead battery does not allow you to press the reset button. (Pressing the reset button with no battery cannot reset the unit)
IF you could press the reset button while plugged into the charger, you could get you unit working again. But..alas, the design of the unit prohibits you from doing so.
Chances are if you fix the battery problem, you will have a usable unit again.

Look at the contact pins (copper pins on the bottom of the tt) and check if one is bent or out of place. The negative pin (the one on the far left with the lcd screen facing away from you) is the one that causes the most problems. The positive side is the pin to the far left. If you have a OHM meter check for continuity between the pin and the solder joint directly below the pin. If you get a reading then it should be OK. If not there is your problem. Even with a dead battery you should be able to connect it to power and operate your tt, but it will die after removing it from power.

Same problem with ours, took it back to the shop (Halfords) after 18 months, they sent it to TomTom who replaced the internal rechargable battery and now it's OK.There was no charge for the fix.
