Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
I boot up, the power light stays green but, the HDD light flashes 1 time really quick and I see a flash on the TV screen, and I have no video or sound. I have performed troubleshooting on all cables they appear to be fine.
I have tried the restart/reset routine with no luck. It almost seems as though the hard drive is dead.
Most likely this is an output problem. But I have had 1 PS3 that had a bad hard drive and it wouldn't even load to the XMB. So try another hard drive and see if that works. Even a swift smack to the old one may work. If that doesn't work try the video out reset.
Reset the Video Output Settings. While the PLAYSTATION 3 system is in standby mode (red light on the front of the system), hold down the touch-sensitive On/Off button on the front of the system until the system goes into standby mode again . (So the light cycle would go from: red light to --> green light --> then back to red light) This will ensure that you have held down the On/Off button long enough to reset the Video Output Settings. Once you turn it back on, it should work fine.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
