its only the black that wont print to the right side
colours red yellow blue are fine
plenty of toner in drum also

  • curleww Aug 20, 2008

does not matter if it is black on its own or any combo of colour/ black
i mainly only use black for receipt printing and seldom use colours
its always black that wont print to right. was fine until about 4 weeks ago

    hey people SORTED see below
took 1 min after a couple of weeks banging my head on the wall

    led head was dirty :(
    see email from oki below

How far is the margin on the document if
its to the edge the print will be cut. The maximum you can move the margin
    is 3 - 5mm to the edge.

If the margin is within the 3 - 5 mm from
the edge, clean the led heads which are located underneath the top cover.
They look like black glass strips 4 in total one for each colour, you can
use the led cleaner which are supplied with the toner cartridges if none
available you could also use a dry piece of tissue.

    Kind regards,

hmm...well..that is quite interesting indeed..can't say that I've seen that too often. here's a test..leave margins where they are, set for black only print(no color) and see how that works.

sounds like a work around to me..guess Oki is on the trail

I bought a new Oki C610 a couple of months ago to start up a custom art business. From the beginning, the DCT 4.5 paper has stuck to the fuser roller. With the first fuser cartridge, it just dog-earred on...

Hi my reply was too long heres the second half..and ill retype the first as a comment

Try printing lighter prints, heavy toner saturation causes paper to stick to fusers and try to keep leading edge of print blank with no big blobs of colour for the same reason, ensure page sizes are set correctly in driver and machine tray settings and dont print outside margins , if you are about to print outside margins your printer driver should warn you, dont click ok if it does

Here is your user manual for your oki. and a link to oki print drivers to suit 610

Here is a link to Magic touch Australia that i thought has some good info re transfer paper use

Ensure your printer works ok with plain paper so we know it aint a printer fault but I'd say it due to how we are feeding the paper and how we have the paper type set and not feeding out the rear as I also think we should be.

Oki does the best colour prints nice and glossy, I dont think many come close to such great colour prints in fact I only like Oki and Kyocera stuff in Colour toner laser machines. Stear clear of cheap non oki toners and supplies because they cause heaps of issues and wreck printers and give many print quality issues, I dont work for OKI directly just telling you how it is in the field ;)

Let me know if you need more help and how you go

Cheers
Steve

X4650 not printing footer correctly

Most printers have a no print border roughly 0.6 cm around the page.

You may be able to set the printer to "Edge to Edge printing to get around the no print zone.

Black line down the right hand side of prints

it may have had a dirt inside that may have been causing the lines. try cleaning with a soft dry cloth then try to print. reseat first the toner before you clean or wipe with a soft cloth

Cannot print avery labels, get message the margins of section 1 are set outside the printable page, or will run thru printer , printing complete get blank page

I assume this error is occuring in Microsoft Word.
  1. Create a new document, with a full page of the label you are having trouble printing.
  2. To see the margin settings of your document, go to File > Page Setup (or Page Layout > Margins > Custom Margins for Word 2007).
  3. Click OK on the margins dialog, and Word will check the settings against your currently selected printer. If a margin is set outside the printable area (usually the bottom margin set to zero), you should see the warning message.
  4. Click the Fix button to have Word change the margins
to match your printer. You should now see the Margins dialog with the new margin settings.
  5. Click OK.
One thing to watch for- on some inkjet printers, the printable area is narrower than the labels. This will cause the labels to shift to the right on the page and be misaligned when you print.
If the labels run off the right edge of the page display, or are misaligned when you print, an extra procedure is needed.
  1. Undo ([Ctrl]+[Z]) the new margin setting, or create a new page from the label template again.
  2. Select the entire table of labels ([Ctrl]+[A]).
  3. Right-click the table, and select Table Properties.
  4. Click the Text wrapping "Around" option, then the Positioning button.
  5. Change the Horizontal position to Center, Relative to Page.
Uncheck the "Move with text" option. Click OK to the Table Positioning dialog, then click OK to the Table Properties dialog.
  6. Left-click (or press an arrow key) to "deselect" the table, then go into the margins dialog (see above) and allow Word to fix the margin settings again.
With the labels aligned to the page, rather than the margins, the new margin settings should not cause the labels to shift.
Once you have the margins set correctly for your printer, I would save the empty page of labels to use as a "template".

Oki C3100 - v poor print quality

Hi Errol

The way to identifiy your problem is to send a full colour print to your printer and open the top just as the paper starts to come out . if you then remove your toner / drums for all the colours you can see the transfer belt if the quality of the image that you can see on the transfer belt is good and clear your problem is with the transfer form the tranferbelt to the paper and not any toner /drum issue and the most likley cause is the transfer belt itself "but before you relpace it remove it and clean around the electrical contact points and generally make sure the internals of the printer is free of loose toner .
