How do I reset my Microsoft password

I'm not an XBox user but my sons are and I think we're helped them out with this a couple of times. If I remember correctly, we went to the XBox website (using a computer, not the XBox) and reset it there. If we did not have the password to log into the account, we clicked "Forgot Password" and a reset email was sent. We used that email to set a new password and then the boys went and used that new password on the XBox without any trouble. Again, it has been a while, so some of the details might be slightly off but the general concept - go to the website and reset there - I'm fairly sure about. I think it's also possible to do it over the phone with Microsoft support if you have time to wait on hold for a while.

I would like to reset online progress on my xbox live account. Do you know if that is possible.

Unfortunately, you cannot reset an Xbox Live account. If you want to get rid of all of your achievements and progress, the best way is to register a new, separate Xbox Live account. Sorry about that.

My xbox box has an e71 i think thats what it is and what is that how do i fix it.

E 74, E 79, E 71 is shown on screen and a solution to fix it is by ensuring that your A/V connections on your Xbox 360 is secured. Another possible cause to the error is that there is a power surge or outage on your system.

Xbox 360 loads up then crashes then comes up on screen system error with a code e71

This is likely to be a dashboard error, possibly caused by an update. Try resetting the console. If resetting doesn't work give the xbox team a call, it will probably have to go in for repair.
To reset:
  1. With the console off, press and hold the sync up button.
  2. While holding the sync button press the power button to turn on the console
  3. Continue to hold the sync button until the Console has booted up completely.
  4. During the boot process the console should clear any failed updates, allowing you to use it normally.

My xbox 360 does not display VIDEO buy plays sound perfectly

Check to make sure the video selector switch on the video cable is set to proper position according to your type of tv. (TV or HDTV)
Unplug your cables and then plug them back in again.

You can also turn on your Xbox using the controller. As soon as it turns on hold in the right trigger and press the Y button. This will reset the video system settings.

It may be possible that you have a bad video cable but I doubt it.
If none of the above works you'll need to call xbox support to have your console repaired especially if it's still under warranty. If it's still under warranty, (under 1yr old for this type of problem) Microsoft will repair it for free.

Xbox 360 thinks it`s an Xbox and won`t register a 360 game

Hey,

Strange Issue, but I think its a possible solution to it. I would say the drive and/or laser needs to be changed.

No Display

Well I think resetting your whole Xbox will fix it, the setup you have to do when you first bought it, go to your system blade and go into console settings and it would be somewhere in there to return your console to pre-bought settings and you will have to do them again, hope I helped.

HiWhen you attempt to access Microsoft?s Xbox Live

If you have a home network (router) try resetting it. Make sure you reset your console at the same time. You can try resetting your modem. Once you reset either give it 2 mins. to come up. Hope this works, if not contact you ISP (internet service provider).
