My Maytag natural gas dryer (model SDG505DAWW) will not dry. When I start the dryer initially the air coming out of the exhaust is warm but after a few minutes only cool air come out. So far I have: - Taken off the exhaust hose from the back to check if it is blocked, but it is not - Checked that air is flowing out of the exhaust (the exhaust exit point is somewhere that I can reach) the air seems to be flowing fine - I took the front panel off to see what is happening; when I start the dryer it looks like a heating element starts to glow orange but then dims. Since it is a gas dryer I was expecting that I would see burners that would ignite but I did not see anything. What are the possible problems and solutions?

Turn dryer on and go outside to the vent and check for a good amount of air coming out. If you do not have a good amount of air coming out, take the exhaust tubes apart and clean.

I bought my dryer in May and it has never completely dried my clothes. I especially have trouble with towels and heavy knits. What could the problem be?

Did you have the same Issue with your old dryer?? Check for a kink in your exhaust hose from dryer,if OK start dryer and go to exhaust vent outside and check air flow at vent ,you should have a good amount of warm air coming out.if not you have a restriction in the duct, that will have to be cleaned out.You need good air circulation to dry clothing not just heat the air circulation helps remove the moisture from the clothes hopefully this will help with your concern

Dryer doesn't dry (flame cuts out)

279834 is the part number for the 2 coils ( kit ) which mount on the burner . Only 2 screws hold the coil retainer . One coil is opening ( shorting ) after it gets warm . Replaceing both will solve the problem . Easily replaceable .

Not drying properly

These plastic blower wheel will get clogged with lint in front of them or they will strip out,get loose, and cause the dryer to be very inefficient. Get the front off and clean out the filter housing. Check the blower for looseness.
