LG GH22LP20 DVD±RW Burner Logo
Anonymous Posted on Jun 11, 2011

All of a sudden, my LG GH22LP20 stopped recognizing cd's. I don't have problems with dvd's, they are read and recognized well. I can not burn a cd

No it did not work. I did exactly as you said and nothing happened. I can read, play and burn a DVD but not a CD. This burner doesn't even "see" the disc. It acts as if there is no disc into it. I'm affraid I have to purchase a new one.

it might be a dirty lens you might use some liquid lens cleaner just place a couple of drops on the top of a cd/dvd or you could try cleaning the lens manually it's already gone bad there is no harm in trying If you take a little risk can solve . follow the instruction: Don't panic its very simply. 1. When running your pc , open the drawer.> 2. switch off the acpower 3. remove powercable & sata or pata cable 4. remove all the screw from the back side 5. press clip to open the font panel 6. reverse the cd/dvd rw 7. just remove the cover 8. clean the optical lance 9. use a little( not much )oil place on two steel shaft 10.cover all the equipment 11.now you can fit to your pc Ifit does the same problem please change the cd/dvd rw because the lance has defected..

DVD drive read/burn problem

From the description the new DVD driver is defective and should be returned if still under warranty. The only concern that I have is the replacement you got is identical to the original and that it is not a aftermarket product, because they don't have the same specifications as the original.

Very easy to swap out a different CD/DVD Drive. Add the new device and see if that resolves the issue.

It's not being recognized as a burner

Use Uniblue Driver 2009 cracked from loadevery.com

If it don't work then there must be the problem with DVD RW

I have just purchaced alg gh22lp20 dvd drive but

the computer should recognize it as a dvd-device though, if not windows is giving u trouble,
so try using any other
freeware burn program like nero or burnatonce to burn,
u necessarily need the original software.
to get anew copy of software email the manufacturer, then post send the cd in exchange for a newer one or look on th homepage if they have something fittng your drive- model and operation system ready to download...

good luck

LG LS50 DVD/CD-RW DRIVE won't recognize blank dvd-r

Yes does not read DVD-R because if your LS50 Labeled like this (DVD/CD-RW) means that can read only all DVD Disc and cannot write on DVD blank only CD blank.

You can burn only on the blank CD-RW or any blank CD.
