Only specific batteries can be used with this camera, look closely at the battery door. Alkaline batteries are NOT listed. You MUST use NI-MH or Li-Ion. Hope this helps...

My batteries drain so quickly when I put them in. I put in brand new ones and they last maybe 5 minutes. is there something i can do to change this?

hi, what battery are you using? most of the kodak digital camera using AA battery has a problem if you are not using KODAK BATTERY that specified in the battery cover. try to use duracel, energizer battery it will work after 5 to 10 shots of picture only. if you notice also the height of the said 2 battery are smaller compare to kodak batt.that's why the contact between to batt and pin inside of the camera are not good.
try to use kodak battery.

My camra worked just fine, then when I tried to turn it on it wont turn on no matter what I do

Please try the following: 1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher). 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera 3. Turn on your camera without the memory card. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty)

We have a kodak easyshare Z1285, it is only 1 year old and the last time it was used the lense extended and the camera will no longer turn on. We have tried new batteries, no change.

Pls. use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher).
Make sure that you are installing a fresh/ full charge battery

Remove the battery
Clean the metal contacts on the battery using a clean cloth

Pls test with an alt. batt.

I got these problems too...

My kodak easyshare c653 camera is 2.5 years old when suddenly did this a few times then completely refused to turn on at all. Research showed me that this is a firmware issue in Kodak cameras. Kodak will look at it and try to fix it for $70 which is not worth it in my case as I paid $130 for the camera brand new 2.5 years ago. Buying a new camera but not a kodak brand.

Kodak Easyshare Z1285 won't turn on

You could have damaged the battery connectors.. I have done that a few times.. If you open the battery compartment can you see if anything is loose? or if anything has broken off? If so, and you have the warranty on the product.. you can contact Kodak and send them the camera to have it fixed...

Optimal Zoom lens not retracting and does not turn on

Have you tried purchasing a new set of batteries and installing them into the camera? I know you said the previous ones were fully charged but if you put the batteries on the charger when they are not completely discharged they will give a false charge... It's the same issue with cell phone batteries you have to let it die as much as possible before charging to avoid battery cell disintegration..

Screen Goes Black when it is turned on

are you in the menu setting?, or inbetween the setting's on the "dial", did you replace the batterys with Dura'sor a solid name?, it sounds like you have a external memory card attached to the camera, did you try taking it out,and see if the problem still happens, also if you do have one and took it out and attached it to a "outside source", it could be infected with a computer virus!, or it was "exposed to a magnetic source, also, try these and let me know, also check your menu settings on pictures settings, to see if you have it on single,or rapid set, that also could be the problem, god bless and let me know if I can be of any more Help

Are you using the batteries listed as compatible according to the cameras battery door? Or are you using NON-compatible Alkaline or Ni-Cad batteries? Only Li-Ion and Ni-MH are compatible. Hope this helps...
