Two things. First thing is the old when i start up cant start because either fastfat.sys or isapnp.sys is not there or corrupted however this is only when the computer has not been on for about 4mins then if i turn it off and on again works a treat(also reformated and didnt fix the driver problem). Second thing is the speakers sound blown, thought nothing of this until i tried headphones and they definitly arent blown but they sound it when coming from the laptop so im guessing its the sound card. can anyone help me with this also if you know a site that had pics of how to take the backplate off of this model would be handy seems to be some hidden clips or soemthing.

Re: ASUS A2500H Sound and Start up problems
Try this to invade the innards:
- Take off any plates (covers) on the bottom to look for tiny screws that pass through the plastic of the case.
Remove those that qualify.
I am blessed with excellent fingernails which happen to be perfect for popping the edges of many cases (along with remotes and other 'stuff' mostly snapped together in China).
If you are not so equipped, try an old credit card and either way work your way around the entire edge to avoid snapping anything.
Another possibility is corrupt drivers so try to reinstall the drivers by deleting the sound card via the control panel and then rebooting.
Blindows - sorry, Windows should 'find' the card and do its thing.
If the box is equipped with "Line in," you might try inputting an external sound source from the "Line out' spigot.
PS: I doubt if you will find a separate sound card , it will likely be a chip on the board with contacts not solderable by human hands.
