Question about PC Desktops

I have an Averatec laptop, series 2300. While I was using it, it just shut down (immediate shut down) and wouldn't boot up again. I have removed battery, Let it charge overnight, and twice it has come back on, and then shut off again during use. Any idea what could be wrong. Right now, it will not boot up. The power light appears when it is plugged in, the blue lights appear when I turn it on, I hear a boot up noise for a second or two and then nothing.

I have a averatec 2300 laptop, the power goes on but nothing else. The harddrive does not start or boot. I do not have a system disk or a boot disk but need one.

I disassembled the entire computer and recycled both the ram and the cpu but the problem persists. I took the battery off and ran it from the power adapter. still no change.

Before this problem the screen would go black and then start changing wierd colors almost like the effects of windows media player when you play an audio cd. I have full access to all components. I thought about taking the lithium battery off and replacing it as well but those things are supposed to last for years. What else do you think I can do?

I seem to be finding this exact same problem on several different topics. I also have an Averatec 2300 ultra-portable laptop.

It seems the problem lies in the mother board not getting enough power at power up. This can be seen by the flash of the HD indicator, as well as the temporary flash of Orange occuring with a fully charged battery in the machine at power up.

The easiest temporary fix for this issue is to actually insert a CD into the Drive, as in most other cases, that is one of the only devices that does receive power.

The second and probably most futile step is to Contact the Trigem company responsible for manufacturing these faulty laptops. (As this problem occurs in A LOT of these 2300 Series.

Are you just running it from the battery? It sounds like you may have a motherboard problem. I would first put in my OS boot cd and see if it boots from the CD. Let me know if you don't know how to boot from CD. If it does boot from cd then run a chkdsk /r on your hard drive.
If that doesn't fix it I would see if the power supply is not working again are you running from the battery without power supply?
Thanks,
Henry

Computer keeps shuting down

Shuts down when? Right after you boot it up? Or does it run a while then shut down?
If it shuts down after it has run for a while then the computer is probably running hot. Either the CPU Fan is not working or the Thermal Paste has dried up or is too thin to keep the CPU Cool. To prove it is running hot, let the computer sit for a while then boot it up. Once it boots up use it until it shuts down and immediately try to boot it up. If it does not boot up that means it's running hot. But if you let it cool off then try booting up you will be successful.

HP M7357c overheating problem

When the CPU in the computer or laptopoverheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot upagain until it has cooled down. If this is the problem is not fixed then theCPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes this problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan. If the fan and heat sink is clogged withdust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use acan of compressed air to do this.

I have an expire l100 when I hit the power button it starts the boot then shuts down immediately i see the fan start to move, then shuts down?

Hi,
A likely cause of the problem described is a faulty power supply. Try booting again with a different power supply. If this doesn't solve the problem you may have a faulty motherboard.

Let me know if you need any further assistance.
Best wishes,
Graeme

How do I reboot my acer laptop with my copy disk?

When turning your laptop on, before Windows starts booting, a splash screen appears first (usually with the logo of the manufacturer). Look on the splash screen (usually at the bottom) for a key (usually F10 or F11), assigned for System Recovery CD/DVD with the laptop. or 1.Press the start button from the start menu depending on your operating system(win 2000,xp) 2.Press Ctrl+Alt+delete combination from the keyboard. 3.If you have a power button on your laptop keyboard,it could also be useful by pressing and hold it down for few seconds N.B: "Ctrl+Alt+Delete" can exit you from usage and trigger a reboot or shutdown. Try and reboot using the operating system. Attempt to use the key combination that will allow you to exit from the operating system and restart the laptop. Be patient, as it may take some time if it has locked up. Hold down the power button. If the operating system's answer to the rebooting will not work, find and hold down the power button of the laptop. This should cause the device to shut itself off. You'll have to press the power button again to power it back on, completing the reboot. Unplug from the wall and remove the battery. If restarting via the operating system and the power button do not work, unplug the laptop from the wall outlet, and remove the battery from the laptop. This will cause it to power off immediately. Allow time to reboot. Give the laptop time to cool down before you power it back on if you had to do this manually. A few seconds should do unless you have additional problems.

All the Best!

I have a dell dimension 2300 desktop and as soon as I turn it on it shuts off, then I restart it again and it shuts off again.

Disconnect all devices from the power supply EXCEPT the motherboard
Remove any extra cards including video etc.(plug monitor into the onboard)

If you hear any beeps these can indictate where the fault is.
either of these sites below will help you further with that

Beep codes Pc

More beep codes

Power up the pc and see if the fans are working.
If not then double check the power connections to the board.

If you still have no fans it is time to suspect the power supply as the probable cause.

If the fans worked then you should have gotten a display which told you there was an error and offering you a chance to go into the BIOS. ignore it and shut down the PC.

Now connect one drive only and boot again.

Repeat that until you identify the component that is giving you a problem.

Once you find the problem then remove or disconnect and carry on with the rest to see if another component might also cause a problem

If there is only one problem device then you may want to investigate that device further, Unless you don't mind replacing it
