Unfortunately when you have a damaged LCD panel there is little you can do with it. Sony charges double for the replacement panel since they can't take your broken one back. Add to that up to $400 for labor and taxes on all that. Just the panel 40 inches or larger can start at $3000 with no dud to return. I once had to give a quote of $4000+ for a set that cost $2500 at Sams Club. If you could find another exact model as yours that had a good LCD panel but didn't work, it might be worth making one good one from two bad ones. Just a suggestion.

Broken screen

Hello Sir, Hi, the screen is broken, I'm afraid that is it for your TV. getting a replacement screen is near the cost of a new TV. You can still sell the TV or auction it on ebay for additional cash, sell its electronic parts such as power supply and main board as surplus goods. Its better this way. Next time protect your screen with LCD protectors or go to a glass shop to buy safety glass, as a cover for your NEW TV.

Helllllo all.please can someone help daughter hs dropped her laptop and broken the screen bezel/ not sure if there is any other problems.the laptop is working fine and the screen is not...

If you need to ask "how" to disassemble the laptop, I strongly recommend that you STOP, and take it to a qualified technician,
and pay him/her $50 to $75 for "one-hour-labour" to disassemble it,
to order the correct replacement part, to reassemble, and to test it.

That $50 to $75 would have been the cost of the "all-perils" insurance. So, you now need to spend the money that you did not earlier spend.

Crack screen

hello, yes it can be replaced but you need to be patient and search for the same model tv at auction sites, if your trying to replace a screen buying it may be very expensive at a parts site, but finding a "as is tv" being sold at auction becuase it dosent work is the best way to find a good screen either switch it out from the set you buy or switch your good parts to the set that has the good screen this is the cheapest way to fix a broken screen. other wise a new replacement cost about the same or more than a new tv.. hope this helps

My screen is broken. Can It be replaced or is the whole thing trash?

hello, you can if you take your time searching for the same model, the best way is to find a same model tv at an auction site. a tv that is "sold as is" and not working as long as the screen is good and not cracked you can switch it out and or switch your internal boards to the tv you get at auction,i have done this a few times. the last tv i repaired was a phillips 32 inch lcd with a tv i got "as is not working" at auction site for very cheap everything works fine, if you try to buy a replacment screen at a parts store forget it they cost to to much, sometimes more than what you paid for the tv in the first place. hope this helps..

I bkokem=n my plasma screen is to expencive to repair?

Sorry but broken plasma screens are very expensive to repair. If you got guarantee/warranty then contact supplier otherwise you better off buying a new one and selling faulty one on a auction site.

Hi there!
If the set is a few months old, it should still be under guarantee. Return to seller for repairs. You will need proof of purchase and purchase date. Good Luck, JUS004

A couple of weeks ago we had the screen broken in our LG LCD TV when one for the kids threw something at the screen. We got a quote to fix it and it was going to cost more to replace the screen than what it would be to buy a brand new TV. We shopped around for a new TV, comparing LCDs and Plasmas. In the end we purchased a new LG Plasma, which had a thin layer of glass over the screen for protection compared to the LCD. We thought this would be much safer with a 4 and 6 year old around the house running amuck. And there seems to be no differfence between the LCD and the Plasma. Hope this help someone's problem.
