  1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
  2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
  3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
  4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
  5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
  6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
  7. Turn the printer off.
  8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
  9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

Fix repeated paper jams on Lexmark 901 Pro

If you are getting a jam and there is no paper visible then a likely cause is a false jam that is caused when the paper is not picked up from the tray at the start of printing. Send a print job and listen closely. If you can hear the pickup rollers turning but no paper is being pulled into the printer then either the rollers are dirty or are worn and need to be replaced. Trying printing from a different tray or the manual feed tray to eliminate a fault with a different component on the printer.

try cleaning the paper supply roller with alcohol and a lint free cloth. if it helps for a short time, then you need to have someone replace the rollers in the paper supply

When feeding my paper it keeps pulling the paper

You need to replace the feed rollers. One side is probably worn. You should be able to buy a rebuild kit for it. Try ebay.

The paper is feeding unevenly and jamming

Agreed. Assume every time this happens something microscopic fell into that tiny pinch of an area. I have found everything from a Tostito crumb to a chip of drywall blocking my paper feed. Flip your machine over and shake it around til the little bugger falls out.

Lexmark X5400 Series AIO Feed Problems

Hi,
Remove the jammed paper. Unplug the printer from the mains and PC. Inspect the rollers, etc for tiny paper piece(s) that may be stuck, or other debris. Try to clean rollers and make sure they are dry.
Keep printer unplugged for about 2 minutes and replug and try a test print.
Also make sure that you have waited long enough for the printer to heat up before giving a print job.
Finally, it could be an issue with the paper sensor. If this is the case, you will probably have to take the printer in for servicing..

Thanks, Anu

Printer wont feed paper says out of paper

you "may" have something stuck on one of the feed rollers - a ripped piece of paper or something. See if you can examine the rollers, and look very carefully, particularly on the side that the paper keeps jamming.

In all honesty though, printers are pretty disposable these days. They're not worth getting fixed, and if you can't do quick maintenance on them, getting a new one is your best solution.

Lexmark x 3350 all-in-one

I picked up a used Lexmark 3500 with the same problem. Had requested help fixing.

Tried to feed more paper through - still pulling hard on the right side. Tried to feed several pieces of paper - one at a time, getting them jammed then pulling them back out. Finally one got jammed way down in there - yanked it back out. Open the top(as to load ink cartridges) Saw a tiny piece of paper sticking out between the plastic rollers, got a small crochet hook (tweezers would have worked), grabbed a hold of it and pulled it out enough to get a good hold of it, then pulled it out. There had been a shread of paper jammed in the roller area. 3" long by from 1/4" to 1 1/2" wide.

My problem was the chunk of paper stuck in the roller mechanism where you could not see it or get to it, until it was partially forced out.

Hope this helps someone else!
