Question about Dell 1600n All-In-One Laser Printer
Have been using this feature with no problem for over a year. All of a sudden, today, nothing at all happens when I try to scan. The screen display stays the same. It copies fine. I have turned it off...unplugged it...nothing.
I had the same problem as both posters.
I downloaded the most recent firmware from dell (3.11T, A03) and reinstalled it. When you run the program, there's a radio button that says "printer" and one that says "network". I did the one that said "printer" and nothing happened. Then I ran the firmware update again and picked the one that said "network" and it started working shortly afterward.
I'm assuming that some component of firmware in the network card was messed up. I could still use the network printing but the "scan" button wasn't working. This fixed it for me. Your Mileage May Vary.
