I use a Canon BJC-2100 printer. The unit that contains both BC-21e color and black cartridges is faulty. I mean that the unit, which has a metal plate that contacts with the printer, doesn't transmit anymore a signal to the printer. What can I do ?

Well if it's under warranty you are in good shape..otherwise, it's quite a lot of more money..around 200 at least..

Green light is flashing on printer - cartridge won't slide back and forth so 4300 printer will not print

If cartridge is in the middle and won't reset to the right, it is likely a bad printhead (BC-21e).

I have a "BJC-4400" printer that has a cartridge holder for a BC20 cartridge. I'd like to replace it with a holder for both black and color cartridges. ~ Bob V

You will be able to replace it with a BC-21e cartrige adapter witch will hold colour and black cartriges in the same spot!

Here is an image of what it looks like:cbad7e0.jpg You will need to purchase the
BCi21BK Black ink tank 2af5c22.jpg and the BCi21C Colour ink tank
6ef4d60.jpg which are all available from
or your favourite ink provider source.

Will not print

Check on, for the users manual, When you install cartridges you hold the resume button for the number of beeps to identify which cartridge is installed. You can install one black ink or one each black and color but you have to tell the printer which is installed.

My Canon Bjc-2110 has new cartridges but nothing prints. I cleaned the heads and still nothing. Any ideas?

You need a new printhead, BC-21, after they dry up the normal cleaning doesn't help. BC-21E is the printhead and ink combination.

Canon BJC 4400 won't put ink on the paper

You need a new printhead, BC-21E, they wear out and plug with ink and the only repair is to replace the printhead.

Error light and 6 beeps upon startup, therefore the printer won't print anything.

Is the BC-21e new, or refilled?
I know Cannon brand new cost so much more, but sometimes you have to bite the bullet.
I had a Cannon Multipass C2500.
Sometimes even a new cartridge isn't good enough. I used to exchange between that one and the all black cartridge, because the all black has twice the resolution. Even with very careful handling, not touching anything metal, they still went bad.
My best suggestion, short of another expensive cartridge is to remove the cartridge, take a soft pink pencil eraser and lightly erase all the contacts on the printer and the cartridge. Look for any of the spring loaded contacts in the printer that are stuck. Do not touch the contacts on the cartridge as they are unbelievably static sensitive. If you see ink on the contacts, use rubbing alcohol and a q-tip to remove it.
Most likely though, it will take yet another cartridge with head to fix it. (That's why I gave up on mine and got a different brand.)

Colour/black cartridge is rejected

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Cartridge recommendations

You can purchase Canon cartridges directly from Canon here. The BC-10 is a cartridge that prints with black ink only. The BCI-10 is the replacement ink tank for this cartridge (a new cartridge comes complete with an ink tank). The BC-11e is a cartridge that prints both black and color, and has two ink tanks, the BCI-11 black and BCI-11 color. A new BC-11e cartridge comes complete with two new ink tanks.

Printer won't print

It always helps to replace with the correct brand as cheaper versions do fail, also if you had replaced it with a BC-20 from Canon, the supplier may replace it for you. It would be a good idea to trust the printer at this stage, try a Canon BC-20
