Where did he do it at? All you have to do is go to that location and when you turn it on it won't ask for the pin. Other wise, you need to send it back to Garmin.

    1. Enter the correct PIN.
    2. Go to the secure location where you set the PIN and the unit will not ask you for the PIN.
    3. Send the unit back to Garmin to be unlocked.

I have had sucess in unlocking Nuvi's but I will only do it for owners who can prove ownership through a valid sales receipt and proof of ownership through registration through Garmin.

Unlock garmin nuvi 680

Hello,

The Garmin security lock can only be unlocked or changed with the 4 digit pass code.
The pass code can only be reset by entering the original pass code or sending it to Garmin to be reset.

How to unlock a garmin nuvi 680 , im looking for a garmin gps and i found one on ebay for a good price but its locked, so i need to know how easy or hard it is to unlock it. Thanks

The only way to get this unlocked is to send it back to garmin with proof of purchase. Reason is that these items are commonly stolen and Garmin does not want to support criminal activity.

Can't unlock my garmin nuvi 680

There is NO master reset code. Whoever told you this was wrong. You have to use your security location to unlock it. Otherwise, you have to send it in to Garmin with the original receipt from an authorized Garmin dealer. This is to prevent use of the unit in case of theft.

My son who is 10 locked my gps

There are two options for you:
1) try to make your son remember the security location he chose, a specific geographic spot
2) send it to Garmin service for unlocking

Good luck!

I have a garmin nuvi 680 gps unit lock

Hi,
When you first programmed the GPS you have the opportunity to select a safe location,
if you selected the safe location, go back to that location, and the lock will not be on, it is for the reason of forgetting it, but it will only work in that location ~ ( ie: your old driveway )
If you cannot do this,
it's a Garmin job to unlock it,
There is no other way to unlock it.

Regards
Richard.

Child put in random code and locked nuvi 260 gps

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} If you can remember the PIN Code previously set on your device you will be able to change the Pin on your device easily. You can change the PIN on the unit by doing the following:
All Nuvi's excluding 3xx and 6xx
  1. Turn your device on
  2. Touch Tools
  3. Touch Settings
  4. Touch Security
  5. Touch On/Off under Garmin Lock
Within this section you can add or change a PIN.

When the Garmin security lock is set it locates the units current GPS location.
If you are trying to change the Garmin Lock and are not within the same location to where the Garmin Lock was set you will need to revert back to this GPS position.

Once at this position you will not be prompted to enter the PIN Code when starting the device up and can change the code as you please

PIN CODE

The only way to unlock a PIN locked Garmin is to enter the correct PIN number, or take the unit to the location where the PIN was set. Your only other option is to send the unit to Garmin.
